What do you think Trump will do that is so bad?

So far during the 2016 election and post election period, I have seen Donald Trump characterized and/or described as:
--Egotistical
--Racist
--Sexist
--Misogynistic
--Rapist
--Xenophobic
--Islamophobic
--Angry
--Cowardly
--Liar/Dishonest
--Cheat
--Failure
--Facist
--Nazi
--Angry
--Dangerous
. . .And a number of other unflattering terms, adjectives, and characterizations.

Even I and those who voted for him and/or who have chosen to give him a chance aren't using too many flattering adjectives to describe him.

But this question is mostly for those of you who oppose Trump and I ask you to be very specific. I don't want a bunch of juvenile nonsensical schoolyard taunts, non specific insults, or psycobabble
here.

Would you be specific about WHAT you believe he will actually do, WHY he will do it, HOW he will do it, and WHY he will do it that would be bad or dangerous for you and/or the country?

I will ask the Trump supporters to please NOT directly challenge or accuse anybody brave enough to respond and if you comment, please state the complaint against Trump and why you think the fear or observation is unfounded.

I would appreciate as much civility as possible from all.
 
Talking about the bad things that Trump might do probably won't stop him from doing any of them.

Stopping him is not the topic of the thread though. What you (and anybody else) thinks he WILL do is the focus of this thread.

Disclaimer: My purpose here is to determine if all the opposition to Trump is purely partisan and/or ideologically and/or emotionally driven, or if there are any really valid practical substantive reasons to oppose Trump.
 

We have to get past the first thing here, AlbqOwl. The terms.

Other than Egotistical, which of the above terms apply to Trump how exactly?
The 'ist' terms don't, and neither does Failure, Facist, or Nazi.

If you disagree, you believe them to apply, why? Make your case that the term does apply.
 

I didn't apply those terms. Those are the terms that others have applied. The terms themselves don't really tell us anything. They are insults or characterizations thrown at the President-elect quite frequently here at DP, on other message boards, on talk radio, on TV, on social media, etc.

I am wanting to hear from folks as to exactly what they think/expect the President-elect will actually DO that makes him so unsuitable or dangerous or whatever to be President and/or why he should be stopped from doing it.

And so far. . .crickets.
 
Several people on this forum have said that Trump will make gays go back in the closet, abortion will become illegal and anyone who is not white needs to live in fear. Seriously. I don't like the guy either and he'll probably be an awful president, but c'mon. This is tin foil hat stuff.
 

He's going to, according to him, "leave it up to the states."
 

So you don't think Trump is going to force gays back into the closet, Josie? I wonder WHAT those who think that--and I have a family member who thinks exactly that--think he will do that will have that effect? He is on the record as being neutral on same sex weddings and okay with transgenders using whatever restrooms. So I do wonder what the problem is?
 
It''s a safe bet that He's going to inflate the economy and our paychecks will be worth 1/2 of what they are now. Plus every day goods are gonna get **** ass expensive under him.

Agreed. All the more reason for these terms, and the justification of their application to Trump.

Why would you ask someone to predict a specific thing that Trump will do? So you can attack them for predicting it without "evidence" or something? We're posters on the internet. We don't own crystal balls or time machines (I think).

We don't know what he'll do. Neither do supporters like you. All that can be known is that he contradicts himself within seconds of opening his mouth, lies all the time, and that to the extent he has actually done things, those things have contradicted his promises. For example, promising to fight DC elite and Wall Street insiders, then surrounding himself with those exact types of people. We also know he likes to shoot from the hip without really thinking things through. For example, he appoints a doctor with no experience with housing policy to head the Department of Housing and Urban development.

We know he's got a very thin skin. Hence, he fires off on twitter at anyone who failed to praise him to his liking. He even seem to think that always-delicate international diplomacy should instead be accomplished by a series of bitchy tweets.




That kind of spastic behavior doesn't lend itself to specific predictions about future behavior, which I suspect you know and which I suspect is why you asked.

This is an anonymous forum designed for political debate. Bravery has got nothing to do with it, except to the extent that Trump would probably shut down twitter in a hailstorm of whine if he saw what people say about him here.

Unless it is your state in which you have a voice as to what your state does, why do you care what other states do so long as it does not affect you? But more importantly, what specifically do you think Trump will do that will be bad for you or anybody else?
 
He will weaken or do away with environmental laws leading to more pollution. He will weaken banking regulations that could lead us back to another failure and a depression. Do away with Social Security and Medicare hurting those who have paid into these programs their whole working lives. Do away with ACA, Obamacare, taking health insurance from 20 million Americans and doing significant damage to the health care industry. Do away with laws that safeguard our workers. Loading the SCOTUS with extreme right wing justices who will rule politically rather than with the constitution in mind. Do away with the "safety net" altogether. Take away the rights of women and the LBGT. Increase taxes on the lower and middle class to be able to cut taxes for the wealthy. I could go on, but you get the message. In the end he will hurt our economy in a way that a future president can not repair it.

I don't think he will either, but I am interested in hearing from those who think he will as to HOW or WHAT he will specifically do that will have the effect of driving gays back into the closet.

I think Trump is a plutocrat's wet dream. He will do everything in his power to gut environmental protections and labor regulations. And I think his proposed trade policies are laughable.
 

So, as I do not wish to mischaracterize your words here, are you saying you dislike and distrust him because of those things you listed, but you can't come up with a single specific thing that he will actually DO that will be bad for you or others?
