Do the women in Italy shave their pits?

sore losers when it comes to soccer.

Being attacked late at night by a drunk mad Italian with a swordstick in an isolated farmhouse on a fogbound hilltop south of Modena.

Petrarch, Bruneleschi, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Palestrina, Dante, Corelli, Vivaldi, Paganini, Verdi, Puccini.

Italy was my favorite country to visit. I have so many wonderful memories. But two things always come to mind first...

1. In my rental car at an intersection. Four lanes...left turn, right turn and two forward. Drivers in every lane determined to get to the two lanes on the other side of the intersection when the light turns green. You ever see the start of a dirt bike race? It's something like that.

2. Standing outside the Colosseum and being surrounded by a group of six children. One of them...the taller one...holding a newspaper under my face and jabbering at me in Italian. All the while, I can feel the soft touch of fingers all around my pants and shirt pockets. And then a lady, mid 40's, well dressed...almost glamorous...coming along. She gently admonished the children, and they all ran away.

My only Italy experience is Rome. Fascinating sites and great food.

Florence is on my travel bucket list.

Italian drivers. They have digital gas pedals, full on or full off. That and the wonderful small towns in southern Italy.

Horrible right-wing politics

And too many news sites with too many articles on calcio ( not even mentioning La Gazzetta dello Sport ).

I spent almost three weeks in Italy just over a year ago. Truly enjoyed it. Rome, Amalfi Coast, Florence, Tuscany, and Venice. Getting to see many of the world's greatest works of art was a treat.

Discovered that Italy is home to the world's larget collection of - - - tourists!

Did not like the crowds in Rome. The Vatican was awe-inspiring.

Traveled much of the country on high speed trains. They are wonderful! Clean, quiet, smooth, spacious, and fast!

Gelato! Puts ice cream to shame.

Found the people to be welcoming, kind, and gracious.

One of, if not my favorite places to visit. Have been many, many times over the past 32 years. Particularly fond of Roma, but so many places I love. Florence, Capri, Portofino, Venice, Turin, we visited my wife's grandparents birthplaces of San Benigno, Pont Canavese and connected to some of her Italian distant cousin. So gracious and provided us with day long tours of the towns and the area. So many other places we have visited on our trips. If I had to move it may well be to Italy. For roughly 20 years we guided tours to many European Nations and it provided us with a lot of information obviously. Now we travel for our own enjoyment with friends and family. Just returned from a Rome, Florence, Pompei/Sorrento trip this past Thanksgiving with our children and grandchildren. Even the 3 and 7 year olds want to return. They can't stop talking about the Gelato.

Very kind and gracious. I've done Rome in the heat of summer and in the cooler fall with less crowds. I wouldn't trade either. The high speed rail is a wonderful thing.

What really comes to mind. When is my next trip?

They can't stop talking about the Gelato.
And the pizza?

One thing I liked about Italy was the mozzarella cheese on pizza and Caprese salads. Melts in your mouth and is so creamy 😋

Art, history and gelato.
