‘I love Hitler’: Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat

Cognitive Dissonance and Tribalism, the same as when folks who don't want to discuss abuses from within the Democrat Party try to change the subject in threads about those instances.
What is this thread about?

OH, LOOK, IT'S NAZIS IN THE GOP. Nothing at all to do with democrats. But here you are.

More like edgelords (dark joking that is as politically incorrect as possible is now how you signal in-group trust and authenticity in young MAGA circles - though humans are feedback cycles, and what you say enough eventually becomes part of who you are), but the question was "Why" would people try to minimize and change the subject.

The answer is that it's rooted in our human nature - cognitive dissonance and tribalism, both of which make us reject reason and painful topics for comfortable ones. The same is true of both sides, and you can see it on this forum on both sides.

As I've repeatedly stated within this thread - it is good that YR is purging these people from it's ranks, and that they are getting fired from their positions within GOP politics. They needed to be, and I'm glad at least someone in those organizations still have some standards.

But if you want to know why people would want to minimize and change the subject, the answer is cognitive dissonance and tribalism.

She didn't "freeze", she refused to acknowledge and reply to a bullshit question posed by her opposition.

Why mischaracterize it as "freezing" as though her lack of acknowledgement and response wasn't purposeful and intentional?
Why was it a bullshit question?

Good thing that the offenders were immediately disavowed by Republicans and conservatives and lost their jobs over it.

The left could learn a few things from them about taking swift and stern actions against horrible people on their own side.
1. They'll still be around. They will be "rehabilitated" within 60 days at the outside.

2. They're like roaches. You see a half dozen, there's a thousand who were at least willing to accept their presence.

To be replaced with ones who will have the same thoughts and simply be smart enough not to type them in a group chat.

🤷‍♀️

Regardless of your baseless and overgeneralized claims here, the fact is that a massive number of people on the right immediately demonstrated zero tolerance for the conduct of those involved, disavowed their actions publicly, and fired people over it.

The left doesn’t do that. They defend the worst crazies on their side and allow them to keep their positions of power, just like the case of Jay Jones.

The party which is trying to concentrate unwanted people into camps.

Its not. Why the far left and why the far right are anti-Israel isnt ultimately for the same reason.

Except that it is the same reason. It's why both sides will pretend it's about the "genocide" (actually "Ethnic Cleansing") and yet remain quiet about the ethnic cleansing happening in Nigeria by Boko Haram against Nigerian Christians. The reason Gaza is the story is because the perceived villains are Jews, not Muslims. It's also why the same people downplay the atrocities of 10/7... because the target was Jews. Had Israel out of nowhere stormed into Gaza, raped and murdered 1,700 people, burned the bodies and then paraded the dead bodies through the streets of Tel Aviv the same people who want us to forget 10/7 would be marching in the streets.

You really arent as aware as you think you are.

I'm quite aware. Democrats and the Left are quicker to bot people out of their circle for disagreements on one or two policy positions than they are to boot them out for promoting violence. Democrats and the Left will of course not hold Jay Jones accountable because Jay Jones is good on Democrat policy, but a staunch left wing Feminist like JK Rowling is made public enemy #1 for disagreeing with the left position on Transgender insofar as it adversely impacts females.

Probably the same way the right felt about Charlie Kirk because that's exactly what would happen.

No it wouldn't. See the YR response to this story as your example. See the rejection of Candace Owens, etc. etc. for the reaction of the right to far right nutjobs.

Meanwhile Hassan Piker is calling to the murder of the rich (while he drives a Lambo and lives in a $3 million estate) and the death of Jews and he gets magazine spreads and adoring leftist fans.

We already saw that with the assisination of a Minnesota lawmakers, she just wasnt as famous as Charlie Kirk.

Who cheered the death of Minnesota Lawmakers? Who said she had it coming? The only thing that comes to mind is people speculating that her vote against Medicaid for Illegals might have made her a target for left wingers, which is a far cry from saying "Yeah, she's dead, but rest in piss, I hated her policy positions."

Democrats will NEVER address the violent rhetoric on their side. Instead we get Spanberger's bizarre freeze up on stage, and the new Democrat narrative that the Antifa, a group rampaging through Portland, who commandeered a couple of city blocks in Seattle, don't actually exist.

Seems the core belief shared in a sizable and influential part of the GOP is that minorities (racial, religious, ethnic) are a group that should be feared and put under tight control.

Relegated to second class citizenship, if that.
