Well that didn't take long. New pup in the house.

And you paid? Asking for a friend of rescues.
The low low price of $850... :cautious: Cheap compared to some asking prices.

The larger rescue dog will come after our elderly Yorkie leaves us. To much concern about issues or injuries with her.

After all that moaning yesterday.

OMG, sooooooo cute!!! Too cute to stay mad at for more than a micro-second! Is this a Yorkie puppy?

Seems expensive when you only got half a dog ;)😇

For some reason I never seem to get on well with 'slipper dogs'. The bigger they are, the better they like me.

Some years ago the guy that owned the boat in the berth next to mine had a slipper (handbag) dog. Thing would race off the boat and try to bite my ankles every time I walked past. I had never interacted with the dog, so there was zero reason, but the damn thing was super aggressive with me. I warned the owner that I would boot the thing into the sea if it actually bit me. Owner was a nice guy, so tried to train the dog that I was a friend, but wasn't as concerned as he might be that his dog was trying to bite me as I walked past. The 'be nice' training only worked until the dog realised his owner wasn't looking, then it would go straight for my ankles. Then the owner would hear the yapping and come racing out of his boat to grab the little horror lovely little pet.

One day I was doing some maintenance on the boat and the family came down to bring me some lunch. They had our big dog Apache with them. He is super well behaved, so wasn't on a leash, just walking at heel. I stepped off my boat onto the dock to greet them, and the little yapping horror went straight for my ankles. Apache was instantly into guard mode, and before you could blink the little yapper was taking swimming lessons. Owner heard the splash followed by frightened yapping, and came racing out to rescue his baby. Apache was already back at heel and putting his innocent face on while my whole family tried hard not to laugh too loud. And that was the last time the little arsehole tried to bite me. After that it limited itself to staying on it's own boat and issuing 'threatening' growls as I walked past.

I always had big dogs. But fell in love with our other old Yorkie. Size doesn't matter to me. Love them all.

Still to decide what larger rescue breed/mix will will get in the not to distant future.

Keep the pics coming, we all need something positively adorable in our lives these days .! Have you named him/her?

Him. Give it a couple days to see his personality and come up with something fitting.
Right now he's little trouble maker! 😁

Settled a name. Got Cali the kitty, so now we have Chester the trouble maker.

Well, not at the moment. Zonked out here in the shed hangout after further acquaintance with kitty. Kitties stretched out napping not far away.

Chester is a very regal name for a very regal pup! Adorable!!!!

Barely over 24hrs and becoming friends. Let them both interact with hands on, crate one, let the other about. Swap it up...

Kitties being gentle, but for that puppy attacking! Break it up! :ROFLMAO:

Both within weeks of each other, I think they'll be friends.

OMG, bet you and your wife forgot about the learning curve after raising senior dogs...didn't quite grasp the "new parent thing" after so many years, yes they will eventually get along just fine. I've never crate trained, but I have no problem with it either. Some dogs welcome the crate as their private place, some hate it and consider it confining. Mixing 2 species, it's probably safer for both of them. No doubt you and the missus will make awesome parents for this little guy! 🤗

Knew what we were in for with two new additions, and being cat and dog as well.
Never been one to crate either, but a necessity with this situation.
Definitely like a new parent thing as in being woke up all hours. One or the other whining or meowing at some point needing out for a potty break. Or elder Yorkie getting up to get water and nails on flooring waking up.

They've both taken to their crates pretty well and get comfortable. Bedtime they are in the room with crates up on a footlocker chest next to each other just far enough apart as to not be able to reach.

Kitty did climb cage and meow a bit for a day or two, but settled in, and pup whined for a very short time and got comfy.
