Army Takes Steps To Protect DC Streets For Military Parade | NBC4 Washington
Tanks and armored personnel carriers will be rolling along Constitution Ave. To protect the city’s streets, the Army Corps of Engineers will be putting down metal plates. News4’s Megan McGrath reports. I remember many moons ago when the Metro subway was being constructed so many streets had these same metal plates you had to bounce onto and off again almost everywhere you had to drive.
The Army has set in place a severe weather preparation just in case which I can advise isn't going to be anywhere near enough ha. Last I looked there was a 60% chance of rain. The troops in their camos, vehicles and on foot marching in the streets -- and just waiting at their staging areas for two hours -- will experience very high humidity and temps in the high 90s which is the standard horrendous weather I remember well from my years in Washington and in uniform with The Old Guard. In the Old Guard uniforms the only part of our body in contact with the air was our face with sweat dripping off your nose to include into your eyes, off your ears and so on. It's going to be awful for these hapless troops being all they can be.
On a lighter note, the Trumpanzee head of the Secret Service (not in any vids I chose) has been reciting that the parade "will draw hundreds of thousands" of spectators. A really big shew.
