Welcome to Christian Monotheism.com

I do not disagree, just pointing out how most religions tend to evolve over time with language and interpretation being a key factor.

"Christian Monotheism" (these videos) claim to be aligned to the "Radical Reformation of the 21st century," or a group that arguably aligns to 16th Century reformation efforts. Everything today from more fundamentalist Baptists, to Presbyterians, to even the Amish have roots in these ideologies. But to the point of this discussion these branches of Christianity intentionally question any other that believes in the concepts of Trinity.

Not necessarily an issue, until it becomes a means of division and scorn. The difference between "you are wrong" and "you are damned for being wrong." I do not mind the discussions, in this area of the forums too. Just pointing out the real risk of one believing another is wrong in Theology on a long enough timeline. Take a solid set of interpretations from say Jehovah's Witnesses against those of more mainstream Catholicism, in some cases they are no where near each other for some core tenets of their respective faiths?

Well, who is wrong? Depends on language, translation, and interpretation. Then affirmed with belief.

Yes, interpretation, the glasses one wears, environment and where one was raised all contribute to belief. Personally, I am more biblical unitarian believing only the Father is God and Jesus is the Christ. I don't see trinitarians as damned to hell or anything of that nature, just deceived through tradition and the need to fit in with the majority.

It's an entirely different ballgame with Trinitarians. Question this core tenant or believe as I do and you are swiftly labeled a heretic and worse. The history of the belief in this doctrine has horrific violence, murder, torture, theft of property and land. Today, you are just not considered a Christian, shunned, ignored, gossiped and scorned.

I believe people are free to believe what they want, but dang why not let me have the same freedom without the repercussions? Are they that insecure in the faith to act out in such manners?.......gotta make one wonder, imo. It's no wonder why Christianity gets such a bad name in certain circles. The judgmental attitude is pathetic.

I think you missed my point...as long as we judge righteously/using God's Word to determine if something is right or wrong/according to scripture, then by Jesus' own words, our judgement of such things is correct/righteous/necessary...otherwise we fall into the pit Jesus spoke of in Matthew 7:15...

It is much more simple than that. Rule no. 1 for everybody: “let your conscience be your guide……rule no. 2 specifically for Christians: the 2 great commandments……they are all encompassing…..right and wrong decisions usually have to be made with immediacy…..little time to consult scripture….

I think you both are correct......scripture is important, a guide for us how to live/react with our fellow man. We have to learn, each of us are not on the same level, as our faith is as a many layered onion, some are still on the milk, while others have moved onto the meat. Life's experiences gives us each a different set of lenses to view and perceive things and our ability to have social interaction. The Word and His Spirit are living moving things, which give life if we allow it.

You're damn right, they will.......guaranteed. A trinitarian with the full backing of a government will most assuredly kill in the name of their triune God. They will even think to be doing God's service, just as they have in the past.......

And only if we are willing to learn/listen...it is His holy spirit that recalls to mind all the things we've learned...all the things Jesus has told us in God's Word...

"But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you." John 14:26

Yes, which for me is what made me question the trinity and Dante's hell. With the experience of His Holy Spirit, the witness to my spirit, these were contrary to the character He showed me.

Through study and prayer, I came to find they both were false, but it came with a price. Then I remember the prayer of willingly to give my life to help Him and He showed me things too wonderful to speak, impossible to articulate. It's the foundation of my faith. I often ponder on those who came before and the strength needed to overcome and literally take the cross the entire way with their lives. I only hope to be able to shake their hands and not be ashamed and look in their eyes......truly amazing.
