Well guess what? Once again the GOP is not keeping their word, surprised?

Mike Johnson opens the door to Medicaid cuts and the resulting political fallout

Republicans seemingly made it official over the weekend: they’re going after Medicaid.
Despite assurances from a wide range of party figures, including President Donald Trump, it appears as if the upcoming GOP budget proposal will include cuts to Medicaid after all.

Anyone surprised?

Looks like Republicans are trying to thread the needle on this... again.

"We have to root out fraud, waste and abuse" has become a political slogan as an avenue to cut these programs in a far more arbitrary way. In the crosshairs are the hospitals and providers left in rural America that tends to vote Republican.

It's rather obvious what is going on when the magas say they are going after Medicaid for fraud and abuse etc, but at the same time slash the IRS and never for a second talk about the 100's of $billions that are being lost to fraud and abuse of the tax system.

First of all, MAGA has supplanted the GOP, and when Donald J Trump said there would be no cuts to Medicaid, I knew they were coming.

Furthermore, Medicare and Social Security will soon be gone:

so I have begun a program to wean myself from government programs by diligently following Donald J Trump's dietary choices and building a semi-successful business selling red hats and FJB flags to lib-prog members of this forum.

MAGA.

Just my opinion but I still believe it’s claptrap with no intent of follow thru. It’s rhetoric designed to own liberals.

The far right lies.

They already passed the budget with the cuts, now they just need to specify how they’re going to make them.

Don't be ridiculous. Roe v. Wade will never be on the table.

They lying sacks of pig shit in the GOP cannot be trusted. They never could.

In 2027, they will be held to account for being Trump's t-bag posts.
