Did you really not know that we completely destroyed Iraq's capability to invade other countries in the fist Gulf war? I guess that would help explain the fear by people that were not aware of Desert Storm.
Yeah, yeah. I'm tired of explaining how US foreign policy changed from destabilization to nation building. That should be obvious.
I'm not worried about invasion. Its the dirty bombs and other things that Saddam could have done or supplied to terrorists that concerned me.
GW Bush is alive and well and posting on DP.
I don't think you can make a case for what we did to Iraq as being moral.
Well then there's not much point to us debating, beause you refuse to see my perspective even a little bit. People who are so one-sided and committed to a narrative are not often open to understanding the perspective of others.
I've not seen any credible explanations for our immoral war on the Iraqi people for control of their oil, nor did I expect that you would be able to provide them.
You're bought and sold on it, what can I do?
I've not seen any credible explanations for our immoral war on the Iraqi people for control of their oil, nor did I expect that you would be able to provide them.
All the evidence shows the plan for military action due to the oil situation was in place years before our attack and absolutely no threat to the US was found in Iraq, so you are right there is nothing you can do.
That didn't prevent him from genociding 50k Marsh Arabs and starving 400k children.
The US embargo is what is alleged to have killed 400k children.
So we are nearing the 10th anniversary of the Iraq war, and with that happening and looking back 10 years ago i have a quick question for you guys here.
With all that happened, the regime change in Iraq, all the deaths, controversery and what not; Was invading Iraq and going to war in Iraq, was it the right choice?
Yeah... alleged by truthers, Saddam cronies, unabombers and fundie muzzies. The rest of us are aware that physical evidence proves Saddam sold baby formula and cereal enough to have prevented the starvation of 400k children. That's fact - physical evidence. Also fact - the sanctions did not involve food or medical supplies (further, food-for-oil was an attempt to directly boost the food supply). But screw the facts, huh?
Yeah... he was under sanctions that had nothing to do with food or medical supplies and he sold formula and cereal to the tune of 400k... Occam's razor, buddy.
No one prevented the feeding of those children except Saddam, as circumstance and actual physical evidence has clearly established and believing that Saddam did nothing wrong.
And, hey, if one thinks 911 was an inside job then I can't blame one for ignoring everything.
What makes you think 9-11 was an inside jog. The great and inimitable GWShiiteForBrains did nothing to prevent 9-11, but that doesn't necesarily mean he caused it, don't you think?
The health and welfare of billions of people depends on the free flow of oil.
How many times are you gonna tell me that you absolutely reject my perspective and reasoning, and expect a reply? Just write me off as an idiot and go on about your work. Closed minded is closed minded, I'm a debater not a witchdoctor! I cannot de-program you.
What you can't do is prove that Iraqi threat rather than getting big oil back in Iraq was the reason of our invasion.
Glad to finally get you to admit that you support killing people for control of their property. Took you long enough.
I understand. I cannot dispel your preconceived notions. You absolutely refuse to recognize the existence of my perspective, reasoning or philosophy. I get it, dude. Are you proud?
Just the facts ma'am!
Fact is: I'm not gonna abandon the beliefs I've garnered over 20+ years of adult life investigating, experiencing and studying the things I am interested in, and all the knowledge and even understanding I've obtained, just because a random internet person is presentng an extremely closed-minded absolutist fundamentalist position. There's nothing for us to debate.
There are two options when encountering orcish arguments: put it down or step aside. I'll step aside.
Good day.
Don't care, I'm not a nationalist.
I'm not either, but I do believe in self defense. You don't believe in self defense?
