Rand Paul was attacked with his back turned and his ears covered. He was hit with such force that 5 ribs were broken and his lungs bruised. He is unable to return to work as of yet.
And the mainstream media wants you to believe it's his fault because he's sloppy about mowing his lawn.
His neighbors say that this is a lie. Paul is a perfect neighbor whose lawn is well kept, they say.
The person who attacked him is an anti-Trump cowardly PoS. He is anti-GOP in his social media, calling for the impeachment of the president and urging Russia investigator Robert Mueller to “fry Trump’s gonads.”
Captured screen grabs of Rene Boucher’s Facebook page ... and taken down since the event also show that the anesthesiologist was a fan of the #NeverTrump clan.
The reason for the attack seems pretty obvious, but the mainstream media seems anxious to justify or excuse violence against Republicans.
Ok, so violence it is.

... The reason for Mr. Boucher’s bizarre attack is known only to him. ...

Perhaps, but there are very few justifications for a physical assault aside from the possibility of self-defense, and "landscaping dispute" is not one of them.
The motive for the assault is not of any importance to me. The idea that certain motives make the same alleged crime more/less serious is ridiculous. It is not up to the state to prove why an assault occurred - they need only show, beyond a reasonable doubt, that an assault had occurred. What I do question is whether the resulting level of injury legally matters, in other words, does inflicting broken bones make an assault more/less serious than inflicting only scrapes and bruises do?
If those continue to be the charges going forward, there is a coverup going on.

I dont understand how the fact that Rand keeps up a great yard means that this can't be a landscaping dispute. I don't think you can just assume the guy attacked Paul cause he doesn't like Trump or just because he's a flaming liberal or something. But this is a LowDown thread, so the usual suspects will just keep saying whatever they want with no need for facts.
That's not factually correct, the article does not insist anything, but rather publishes quotes from Paul's neighbors who claim that Paul's yard was always neat and tidy so the landscaping argument simply doesn't make sense.
I've known some neighbors that were total freaks about neatness -- one who threw a brick threw a neighbor's window because a Styrofoam cup blew onto his yard, so there's a chance that Paul's attacker is a total freak, too. But, he's an anesthesiologist so he should be able to control his temper. I would not want that man monitoring my anesthesia during surgery, that's for sure.
Trumpsters.. Coverups everywhere!
I agree the guy should be punished harsher than what he has been charged with, but that doesn't mean there's a coverup going on.
Agreed...I'm one of those people. One time I tried to start a natural yard initiative - basically, stop cutting your lawn and let nature reclaim, the result will be beautiful and meadow-like.
No one went along with it, so I burnt the neighborhood down. (Chill, chill, I made sure everyone was out first, I held a BBQ, and disappeared right after the food was served to do the deed).
So, I guess my question here is, who cares? Assaults happen every day, all over the place, what makes Rand so special? Let the courts figure it out.

Yes, it does. And your unavoidable shot at “Trumpsters and cover-ups” is an indication of just how warped this board’s thinking has become.
My post is thoughtful and logical. Yours is just a cheap shot at a conservative..
Rand Paul isn't any more special than anyone else, but he's a well-known public figure, which means the media takes greater interest, and so does the average citizen.
It's like the accusations against Spacey and Sheen. Were they just good old boys in a Podunk town, you'd never hear of them -- but -- they're public figures so everyone wants to chat about them.
Yea. His raging liberal ***** points of view in no way could possibly motivate him to attack a republican.
In other news...liberals cant see forests.
I know you think that but it's not a cheap shot. You're post was silly. You're pretending like a guy attacked a sitting US senator and there's some shadow conspiracy in the background to protect him from justice. It's conspiracy theory type thinking.
There was serious damage done in this assault.
Paul has been in the hospital since Saturday, when he was assaulted while doing yard work.
I appreciate all of the support from everyone. A medical update: final report indicates six broken ribs & new X-ray shows a pleural effusion

The Bowling Green, Ky., neighbor who allegedly attacked Sen. Rand Paul last weekend, causing six broken ribs, was aggressively anti-Trump and anti-GOP in his social media, calling for the impeachment of the president and urging Russia investigator Robert Mueller to “fry Trump’s gonads.”

I guess...seems like slow news day content, though...we don't need tabloid coverage of politicians, things are divisive enough in the normal coverage. This very mundane issue will be used (clearly, per the OP) to spout all kinds of conspiracy theories, accusations, generalizations, and other nonsense. It's something that happened between two people, let them work it out, with the help of the cops, of course. Thought the sentence was too lenient? That's also very common. Just seems like business as usual, with a big name thrown in as the only noteworthy variable.
