Gunshots fired in his vicinity while he was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in WPB. Thankful that the former president is safe though I am left wondering about his secret service protection.

The Trump campaign on Sunday said former President Donald Trump is “safe following gunshots in his vicinity.”
“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement that did not provide additional details.
The former president was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The course was immediately locked down, according to a source familiar.

The police were chasing two people and that's when the gunfire broke out. Thankfully, this does not appear to be another assassination attempt, but something unrelated.

Does anyone know where JD Vance was at the time shots rang out?

I am concerned that he may have used the gunfire as cover to indulge in some cat eating.
