[W:80] Trump encourages Israel, our ‘ally’, to block US lawmakers from travel

Maybe you should read their travel itinerary before making assumptions; there is nothing in the itinerary mentioning visiting Gaza or the Occupied Territories. Oh, and the spelling is 'Palestine'. Always happy to educate right-wing Americans.

I’ll note here that no one in this thread has found an answer to the two OP questions.

1) has any President ever done this? And
2) has any ally ever refused a Congressional delegation?

I just want to say...CALLED IT!

Has any member of Congress refused to recognize an ally's right to exist, refused to call the country by its name and aim to promote its destruction from within its sovereign borders?

As I understand it, no.

2) has any ally ever refused a Congressional delegation?

I don't know of any, but I think I've heard some adversaries have - though many have allowed them as well. For example, Republicans in Congress would go to Russia during the cold war, meet with opposition, and come back and report.

Did you notice how the leftists haven't posted any pro- Palestinian stuff?
It's as if they can't figure out they are being told how and what to think in this issue. LOL.
I wonder if they feel a great kinship with people that fire random rockets at their neighbors?
What this thread really needs is a post from an actual Hamas activist so they can see how actually crazy those MFs are.

I just want to say...CALLED IT!

Ya, sharp stuff. "If Bernie spits in trump's face, he'll get attacked." Bernie spits in trump's face. People attack him. Hey you called it!

Paid by the lie?

Oh, I see, so you're making assumptions about what someone hasn't said? Interesting logic you're employing, but sadly you have failed dismally. When were they asked the question of Israel's right to exist? Links please.

Several people have asked them numerous times and they have dodged the question every time.

There isn't a day that passes that Trump doesn't demonstrate that he is unfit to be President. This is one example in a litany of examples that is incontrovertible proof of that fact.

You failed. Own it and move on mate-or you can provide links and quotes as requested. I would hate to accuse you of bull****ting.

Please provide links where they have said Israel has the right to exist. Every time they are asked they dodge the question. It's not like they haven't been asked. Hell, even Jake Tapper asked them and they dodged the question.

Our nations are allies, and allies who purport to be democrzcieds do not block their respective congressional delegations, despite political views.

Also, I don't buy yur premise. They are, as I am, critical of Istrael, but that doesn't necessarily equal hatred.

From my other comment on a related thread

Those who support Trump on this, well, it is particularly rich given they don't have a problem with Trump letting Putin, a professed enemy of American and western democracy, in the White House and given the royal treatment.

Now America has royalty? To put Omar and Tlaib on the same level as heads of State is ridiculous. They do not represent the USA. They represent their districts.

So I guess you’re going with ‘no’, then?

You seem confused.

Their districts are IN the USA. The voters have chosen them to represent them in Congress, which is the governing body of the USA.

Congress, by definition, represents the US as a whole.

And the last time you spoke with either of those ladies was when? Pardon me for saying it but you sound like the president you admire. Unless I'm mistaken he said that exact thing before you did. No? Polly want a cracker?

Congress represents us as a body. An individual member of Congress does not represent the United States. That is what our ambassadors from the State Department are for. If my Congressman Devin Nunes took a flight to the Eastern Europe via Poland or the Ukraine to have a talk with the leadership of Ukraine's ethnic-Russian separatists about ending the sanctions on Russia and allowing the full annexation of Eastern Ukraine, and the Polish and Ukrainian governments blocked his entry, would this be a grave insult to the dignity of the United States? Would you be snarling about the perfidious Ukrainians and Polish allies betraying our trust?

Or do you only make this argument for Congresspeople you agree with politically?

Nines would be stupid to do that, but I wouldn’t want ANY President to appeal to those nations to prohibit Nunes travel to say idiotic stuff.

I also would not like it if Poland or the Ukraine- two friendly nations, refused a Congressman entry.

You seem to have no problem with that.

First, Threegoofs, I appreciate your consistency on the subject.

But certainly, I would not demand that these countries (one an allied nation and one a friendly nation) suffer a Congressman to come with intention to have a friendly tet-a-tet with their nation's adversaries. Nor would I be greatly upset. I do not think any nation, whether allied to us or not, needs to suffer our politicians tromping through their backyard gardens stirring up trouble.

That’s absurd.

You’re saying that if their political views don’t line up with the current party’s views, the foreign government is perfectly ok to reject a visa.

That’s par for the course for authoritarian states, but Israel is a purported democracy, and we are allies because it’s a democracy.
