That was a phrase from over 30 years ago when violent crime was much higher there. Moreover, this looks like it is politically motivated and has nothing to do with gang related crime. Minneapolis is actually one of the nicest cities in the country with one of the best quality of life rankings in the country. In fact, Minnesota as a whole typically is at the top or near the top of all quality of life measures - healthcare, education, public safety, lifespans, happiness, infrastructure, environment and so on. Minnesota has been one of the best governed states for decades now.Locals call it muderappolis for a reason.

Given the targets, the motive is almost certainly political, but while it is more likely the perpetrator is a far right extremist, its possible that they are a far left extremists, we don't know and other than speculating that the motive is likely political, I agree, people should wait for the facts.That's what I was wondering. Given that they didn't give out any names I assume they were local officials and not nationally known... but nationally known would likely have security.
So if they are local politicians then being Democrat isn't really much of a differentiator since I'd guess most local, urban politicians are Democrats.
Motive could be anything at this point, and I'd warn folks to not get ahead of the facts at this point.
