[W:286] Are US child migrant detainees entitled to soap and beds?

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

proof and evidence is required. show me the evidence.
until then it is bunk.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

You should feel shame for the above babble.
Don't patronize me.

I need no praise from you and your partisan ilk.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Which really begs the question as to why your lord and savior, twump, hasn't fixed this.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

So, go whine to your dem leaders, they're the ones withholding the border funding.

Again what would jesus do?

The right wing get off on this. They love seeing brown children suffer. It is not a funding problem because congress passed money for border security (just not for a wall). It's a moral dilemma because the Trump admin and ICE want to punish migrants for trying to get in. They make no distinction between illegal crossers and those who turn up at ports of entry to demand asylum. They don't care that people are escaping poverty, war, violence and unrest. To Trump they're all just 'illegals' who need to be 'dealt with'.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Interesting thought. Overstaying visas isn't exactly the same, but in any case, US citizens are usually given the opportunity to buy a plane ticket home, or be arrested. I don't think many of these people can afford that, but certainly it would be cheaper to provide them with a ticket than to detain them for more than a few days. Is that what you are advocating?

Other countries don't allow non-citizens to remain indefinitely without going through a legal process -- not even Mexico.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Facts don't care about your feelings. The equations to concentration camps are valid.

the people that were in the concentration camps severely disagree with you and your opinion.
your right facts don't care about your feelings. yea concentration camps. lmao.
Let me know when there are gas rooms were we load a whole ton of them in and just kill them.
or let me know when we load them into an oven to burn the bodies some of which are alive.
you have no friggen clue what you are talking about.

Also, we're talking about kids here...not sure they had the option of whether or not to obey the law, they were likely brought or forced to come across. Not sure punishing them will solve anything.

Oh I'm sure it will: it will make Trump and the Proud Boys all warm and fuzzy inside.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Most asylum claims are found to be invalid. People are abusing that process, because we've allowed it to be abused. They're seeking to migrate for economic reasons - and there's a process for that.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

No, children shouldn't be suffering ... what's your solution?

His solution is to turn a blind eye to the lack of accountability and human atrocities that started under three previous presidencies.
You don't expect politics before country cretins to actually admit it's not all Trump's fault, do you?

eta: forgot to add.... "We right wingers love to watch children suffer" so what would we know?

1. They are already getting them.
2. Yep so we can send them back to their parents or country of origin.
3. Right now it is running about as effectively as obama ran it so you should have 0 complaints.
4. if it was acceptable under obama it should be acceptable now unless you are a political hack.
5. It was obama that caused this to happen with all his talk of amnesty and everything else so yes he should be attacked for causing this mess.
6. The only people abusing these children are their parents, traffickers and the liberal party.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Stop with the bs! I remember when the jackals on the left bitched that the prisoners in Guantanamo were mistreated. So you run out and get you some toothbrushes and get your liberal self down there and brush those theeths.

The border is funded and they are going through the process of giving more funding because the Trump administration has caressly used all of the previous funding.

No worries, I get it. You don't think children should be treated that way, but only if you get to twist it around so that it's the Dems fault and not the actual people running the agencies that are enacting the policies.

How noble of you.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Nor this. From the same article.

"So the policy purporting to “deter” border crossings is, in practice, a fast track into legal purgatory, according to human-rights advocates. The notion of trying to discourage migrants by needlessly separating families is stunning enough; but Homeland Security’s singular policy to punish these specific families—who have braved hell to reach the border—marks an unprecedented level of ferocity."

The difference is this time the abuse is policy.

the people that were in the concentration camps severely disagree with you and your opinion.

Instead of spewing those ignorant lies, you should listen to what actual concentration camps have to say.

your right facts don't care about your feelings. yea concentration camps. lmao.

Why are you so easily offended by the factual comparison between the Trump concentration camps and the Nazi ones? You have yet to put up any salient argument that suggests that the Trump concentration camps do not fit the definition.

I feel shame that I should have to explain to fellow americans that innocent children in the custody of out country should get warm food to eat and clean clothes. They shouldn't be walking around covered in snotty clothes, pants covered in piss for 3 weeks at a time.

You are whining at someone who you feel is lying? Oh that is adorable!

That's an interesting observation. For all the virtue posturing by the left, and the trendy NGO funding for gays, minority college students, etc. you'd think some of these nine digit wealthy organizations would put a few shoe boxs of essentials for these kids and drop them in the mail. George Soros where are you?

Of course, fixing the kids complaints does weaken the utility of using the kids as pawns for bashing Trump. So, no soap for you!

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

You can't even admit that Jesus wouldn't see politics first as you do... He'd see a need for the people of this country to prioritize their values and not to politicize the cruel plight of migrant children.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

That's from one person... who, bless his heart, is known for his political activism, and is trying to push his point. He was also never in a Nazi Concentration camp. I'm not aware of his history with US internment camps, but those were not the same as the Nazi concentration camps, nor are they the same as temporary detention centers being discussed.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Yad Vashem tells Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to 'learn about concentration camps' - Jewish Telegraphic Agency

Yes you should.
but we all know that is all you have.

Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust museum, had a response to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez referring to migrant detention centers as “concentration camps.”

.@AOC Concentration camps assured a slave labor supply to help in the Nazi war effort, even as the brutality of life inside the camps helped assure the ultimate goal of "extermination through labor."
And by doing so, they insist, she not only exaggerates what is happening in the detention facilities but belittles the ways Jews suffered when the Nazis turned their concentration camps into death camps.

ok so please show us where that is even close to being the case. these are called fact and what you are saying is not fact.

Why are you so easily offended by the factual comparison between the Trump concentration camps and the Nazi ones? You have yet to put up any salient argument that suggests that the Trump concentration camps do not fit the definition.
It isn't fact so have a nice day.
let me know when we are slaughtering kids in a furance.
or let me know when we are using them to the point of death by way
of slave labor then you might be factual.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

1. They are already getting them.

Lawyers: 250 children held in bad conditions at Texas border

Ok, so your position is that these kids have gotten the essentials and that this is acceptable?

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

Bravo! :applaud

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

we separate kids from their parents all the time. so your faux outrage is just that.

Re: Government argues that child migrant detainees are not entitled to soap and beds

I didn't ask for your opinion. Ludin should be able to defend himself.
