Here is Roger Waters speech on behalf of the Russell Tribunal to the UN in 2012

There's the expected focus on Israel/Palestine seeing as it was given as part of the UNGAs annual debate on this subject and is taken from the findings of the Russell Tribunal report on Palestine but there are also some comments on the framework of the UN itself which I say mirror my own views as to why it is in need of restructuring so as to negate the coercive elements that undermine its performance and any claim to legitimacy as the guardian of international relations

If Roger Waters wants to speak for 25 minutes on how he created the musical masterpiece that is The Wall, then I am all ears. But you would have to explain why this topic would interest me.

BTW I don't recall him claiming to be an expert in his speech , just a person who represented the findings of the Russell Tribunals report into Palestine and supports the BDS movement

I am a Pink Floyd fan. I haven't heard that Roger Waters was a expert or even knowledgeable in the Middle East.

You don't necessarily need a qualification in something to be knowledgeable about it. You can do your own research and never take a formal exam. You will know this already but evidently will dismiss Waters position on BDS Israel/Palestine because it conflicts with your own

Why don't you actually respond to the subject matter of the speech he gave that was based on the opinion of some pretty distinguished experts in international law ? Or is it just easier to stick to your straw man argument ?

The article also takes some lyrics from The Wall and , imo , avoids the context to portray a position that is the polar opposite of their meaning which is in fact the denouncement of racism and bigotry in all its forms.

The straw men continue along with the avoidance of the content of his speech.............. what a shock we are witnessing here so far :roll:

That's because I don't have to. People will either watch or they won't and I don't care if they do or not.

Serious people might actually watch it and contest or agree with its content and others , not to be taken seriously imo , will do what you have done which is to refuse to watch it but continue to post straw men arguments about the speaker

What I find important in it will differ from the next person and , as previously noted , nobody has your arm up your back to watch it. In the opening post I already stated what I found particularly interesting but you probably never read it properly hence your continuing ignorance of it

Just playing the put information up game. If people want to protect themselves and their beliefs by ignoring it I really don't see that as winning or losing. It's their choice to engage or not and I really don't lose any sleep over it tbh.
