[W:134] Michelle 0bama Continues Her Race-Baiting. Makes Me Want to Vomit.

Yep, there were (and likely still are) plenty of yankee racists. Of course, when the reverse happens (richer folks, often white, move into mostly non-white and/or poorer neighborhoods) it is also deemed to be bad (racist?) and called gentrification. What, exactly, would you propose as a viable solution to either of those socially (socioeconomically?) harmful situations?

Exactly!

How dare she point out the effects of racism in America.

Hmm... would those effects of racism include having her husband become a two-term POTUS and her family buying a mansion (or two)? Sometimes, when you are highly successful and very rich, it's best not to use yourself as an prime example of the (hopelessly?) oppressed. Perhaps, Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Warren should alter (or, better yet, completely abandon) their personal anecdotal claims of (social injustice?) victimhood.

You do realize that their wealth did not turn their skin white, yes...?

Or, it's important to point out that even when you're successful and wealthy, you can still be affected by racism.

She is also correct that white flight is still happening.

Well if guys like you are vomiting she must be doing something right

We will soon see how many of her new white neighbors flee from her moving into their neighborhoods.

How can we solve problems if we don't discuss them?

This is a topic worthy of a rational discussion. Trying to shut it down is inherently dishonest and counterproductive.

In my opinion, a few problems (such as this one) should NOT be discussed, for discussion cannot solve some problems.

People are going to do what they feel that they have to do -- regardless of what anyone else says.

I do not think that we should judge either side. One side feels that they must take a certain action; the other side feels hurt. We cannot criticize either side. They are both "right."

Have a nice weekend!

I was part of busing in LA in the late 70s. Guess what? There were gang fights and territorial battles. For two years, going to school was a joke. And a scary one at that.

I see no indication that the OP is engaging in any rational discussion.

1) They have the money. When racist whites move out of their middle-class neighborhoods they drain their cities' tax base. No money equals slums.

2) Keep blacks in the hood where they belong...

Neither do I, and the same goes for most of the respondents.

It's just more hate from the right. Hate is what unites them.

That said, Mrs. Obama is a racist and always has been.

The psychology groomed into generalized white society is as much the cause for people's mindset that generate property value decrease based on race and ethnicity... that comes directly from a society that spent vast numbers of decades with a purposeful intent to down-rate,and disenfranchise anything held of pursued to be beheld by black people.
Its the same psychological grooming that was done related to job types... where class bias was promoted as a segregationist labeling and pay irregularities in how jobs were views and respected or disrespected...

Now, white people can't stand it when someone expresses these truths in which they created as an ethnicity skin based system of segregationist agenda, with a high concern to promote and sustain economic disenfranchisement of none white persons... and they did the same thing to "segregate wealth and well to do white from poor whites.

Thankfully, Michelle has the character and integrity and the strength of person as individual to "address these things" which "segments" of white society would otherwise spend another cycle of decades trying to sweep under the rug and pretend it ain't so... All the ways back to the days of Fredrick Douglas and those who came before him... Black people have spoken truths, that white society could not bear to face or address in the light of day or the times of the present, whether it was the present time in days gone by, or the present times even of this day and time.

They even created public policy among white society under the Jim Crow ideals... trying to shield themselves from raw and real truths.

1. I have been in some pretty trashy white neighborhoods with low property values. low property values is a matter of lower income not race.
2. I don't blame anyone for wanting to live in a nicer neighborhood.
3. most people want to live in nice neighborhoods race doesn't matter.

Maybe M. Obama should review some of MLK points.
"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." MLK

There are just as many poor white neighborhoods as black ones.

maybe 80 years ago this was true. not at this point.

race baiting doesn't address anything nor is it integrity at all. there were many reasons for the move of not just whites but others that could move from the city to the suburbs.
crime, cost, etc ... Detroit is the perfect example. you move 10-20 miles outside of Detroit and things get cheaper in cost of living and you are not paying huge Detroit taxes.

blaming it on because a black person moved into the neighborhood is a horrible excuse and well a bit dishonest. I have been in large cities never want to live there.
again neighborhoods go down for various reasons usually it is monetary vs race 99% of the time.

I don't have a problem with gentrification. It has nothing to do with racism. It's not the subject of the OP.

Michelle Obama was talking about something awful that happened in the past. The OP is clearly racist and claims that Black people ruin neighborhoods and thus it's reasonable for Whites to flee as soon as a Black person moves in.

I'll also add that the issue of White flight is more complex than just racism. A lot of Whites moved up in status and were able to afford to move to better homes.

But the OP is a Christian in the same sense as the KKK is Christian, ranting about Michelle Obama for no rational reason.

Michelle Obama was talking about the past.

I don't see how she is "race baiting" when she's talking about something that really happened.

I don't know if you're aware of what happened as schools became desegregated. Whites who didn't want their kids going to school with Blacks moved.

In the 60's and 70's when MO grew up racism was far more prominent. Things were pretty bad if you were Black in the 60's and 70's.

No, the USA. You have a POTUS who publicly defends the KKK and Neo Nazis. Of course, White Supremacists try and deny it ever happened, but hey, racists gonna be racists eh.

First, the notion of rampant white racism and Naziism is mostly a lie. Second, Trump correctly identified the leftwing side as starting the violence in Charlottesville, The 'Trump is a racist' meme is a pure lie.

'Take away white victimhood and Trump supporters won't have anything to talk about.

That's a horrible lie. Economic issues and pro-life are the big ones for us, and Trump scored big on both of those.
Yeah, and I know people who donate advice for free because they believe in Santa Claus. I don't see what believing in magical invisible beings has to do with the ability to provide good advice. Perhaps you could explain.

People who abandon the idea of God usually subtitute Him with reefer, alcohol, and porn.
