Whether you are a Rube-publican or a Dumb-ocrat, believing in the lies a politician or political party tells you is one reason why our Republic is as weak as it has been in 50 years. We have to return to a country where truth matters. You may see spin here, but you will see truth. Believe it, or tell me why you don't.
"America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate," the PE, 11.25.24
No it didn't, and don't believe it. Unless of course you don't believe ballotpedia.org All election results come from that site.
Let's start with the popular vote. The PE won the popular vote. The PE did not win the majority of voters. The PE did not receive the most votes ever cast for President. Of all American presidential elections, only 8 had a smaller margin of victory (based on margin of victory).
Next up? The Electoral College. The PE won the Electoral College. The win was not unprecedented. Of the 60 federal presidential elections in our history, the PE won the Electoral College by the 44th largest margin in history.
Third leg in the stool? How about coattails? In the House Of Representatives, the R's party won 220/435 (50.6%) races. In the 2024 election, 4 incumbent D's and 7 incumbent R's lost their seat. Moving to the Senate, the R's won 53/100 (53%). In the States, there were 157 executive offices (Gov., Lt. Gov., AG, SoS) up for election. R's gained 4 seats. 79% of all State legislative seats were up for election. 55% of seats up for election were won by R's and 2/99 State legislative chambers changed control, R's gained control of the MI House, and gained a tie in the MN House.
The PE won a decisive victory, but there is no mandate. The only thing claiming a mandate will actually do is make R voters wonder why R elected officials can't get anything done. Please tell the truth, it makes it easier to remember what you said.
