BBC News - Vegetative patient Scott Routley says 'I'm not in pain'

Pretty amazing stuff. I wonder HOW they communicate with him, it wasn't really clear to me.

Fascinating and incredible stuff. This could have big implications in how we deal with vegetative patients. I'll definitely be checking out the broadcast.

I'm conflicted as to whether it's even good news though. I mean, being fully conscious but permanently trapped inside your mind, unable to move or speak. What kind of hell would that be?

interesting, but also somewhat frightening. I can't help but think of the film, "johnny got his gun, " which was about a horribly injured soldier from WWI and his own internal dialogue as he lay in the hospital.
