A new Emerson poll out today, shows this. The GOP is clearly happy with Trump's VP choice. The Dems have a lot of undecideds about a potential 2028 candidate but Buttigieg being on top in this poll, certainly surprised me. It's obviously very early, but maybe not for the GOP side. That looks pretty solid.

I'd love to see the 2nd and 3rd choices on the GOP chart in high positions should the GOP win the presidency in 2028. I'm a big fan of all of those top three!

Vance is there due to the process of elimination. The GOP is a one man show and Vance is closest to that one man.

Since the last time that one man left office, 80% of the country thought we were going in the wrong direction, it will be interesting to see if those coat tails for Vance will last.

Yep. The next closest percentage wise is "undecided."

Hilarious that RFK and DeSantis track higher for Trumplicans than Cruz.

The only reason JD is polling well now is that he’s under the radar. As soon as he gets press attention again, he’s going to tank. He ain’t got IT.

Way too early for this to be practical, speaking of it is exceptionally way too early to squeeze out some half-assed victory lap on Republicans being "happy."

The midterms will be a far better indication of what each party needs to do headed into 2028.

No. Vance is an idiot, and Buttigieg is unelectable.
Buttigieg might not be unelectable. He has he balls to go on Fox and challenge their assertions. Remember, there was a time, not too long ago, people were saying a black man would be unelectable.

But my God, the backlash to a black man being elected. Is it worth it?

Waaaay too early to predict any of this. I hope it's one of Pete, JB, or Basher in KY. But that could change too.

Pretty much a "name recognition" poll.

Would chalk it up to being sorta meaningless.

..

I like Buttigieg (despite him being a queer - rightwing thinking of course) and I like Josh Shapiro. A big NO to Kamala running again, not because she is black, and AOC should wait one more cycle but definitely looks like a future candidate for the Dems.
A shame Michelle won't run, (you know the one, the one who is really a man with a .............. - rightwing thinking of course), because she would be a shoo-in.
Strange that Andy Beshear is so low on the list. Too centralist for the Leftists?

Am suspecting that the democrats will have a number of qualified legitimate presidential candidates in 2028.

(and no, AOC is not one of them...)

That democratic list is just pathetic.

It really is.

You folks need some new untainted blood in there.

Pete has zero chance, he couldn't even survive the primary he was in. He's not going to win anything.

If I had to guess I'd say you folks run AOC but my God, that is scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Republicans have many better options depending on how Trump performs. Vance would be the obvious choice or Rubio.

If Trump blows it over the next three years though it won't matter who the republicans run since democrats will win by default. Personally I love Nikki Haley or Trumps daughter to get it but we will see.

Didn't work then, let there be a backlash against Buttigieg, the only people that would be backlashing are the neanderthals on the far right.

Michelle ruined any chance with her recent rants against Obama.

When trump goes, all hell will break loose in the GOP.
No one else has whatever voodoo trump does that makes righties such absolute cowards.
The infighting will be intense.
I don’t think Vance will be anywhere near the top. He’s an idiot, propped up by an anti American billionaire.

Stop watching Fox or reading gossip magazines. Just a suggestion.
I actually saw her recent rant against Obama on CNN covering her on a podcast.

Fox never even bothered to cover it.
