US to withdraw from NATO under Republican bill

Senator Mike Lee introduced the Not A Trusted Organization (NATO) Act to withdraw the U.S. from the alliance.

You'll recall the Sen.Mike Lee (R/UT) posted twice to his X account about the assassination of a married couple from Minnesota: "This is what happens When Marxists don't get their way" and the second says "Nightmare on Waltz street," seemingly blaming Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for the shootings -- which the governor called an "act of targeted political violence." The posts were eventually deleted from Lee's X account. Lee is also busy amending the Senate version of the Big Beautiiful Bill (BBB) tax act to enable the sale of public lands. Now Lee wants the US to abandon NATO and Europe. Does Senator Lee desire a formal allience with Putin's Russia?

I still can't fathom why the good people of Utah keep electing this cretin to the US Senate. Are you all filled with such hate, greed, and slavishness?

I doubt the good people of Utah are the culprits. They are apparently outnumbered.

It was a Republican that introduced this bill.

Further, Lee's comment that accused NATO's European members of "making American taxpayers pick up the check for decades." illustrates that he either: A) Doesn't understand how NATO works. B) Is being intentionally dishonest.

Which do you figure it is? He's dumb, or he's a liar?
 

To leave NATO, he'll need 2/3s of the Senate. That's 67 votes.
The GOP doesn't have that.

I've come to realize that there's reams of legislation introduced that go exactly nowhere, and just refuse to get all worked up about it, or any one of them.
