This is a reason why I am taking the wait and see approach before taking any Covid vaccine

Update (0740ET): A press briefing will be held at 1000ET to share more details of the JNJ situation. A joint statement has been released by the CDC and FDA.

The following statement is attributed to Dr. Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research and Dr. Anne Schuchat, Principal Deputy Director of the CDC.

A meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will also be called on Wednesday to further examine the situation.

Concerning to say the least.

6 out of 8 million is an extremely small percentage and only one death, it is still unclear what caused it anyway as the clinical trials showed the same clotting in those who got a placebo.
I like small percentages too. Like my chances of catching then dying of Covid

I was afraid this would happen.

More people died from Tylenol deaths last year than the 6 cases of rare blood clots from one (of several) vaccines. But this is the sort of ammo the anti-vaxxers will jump all over.

For how long? The Pfizer shots have been widely distributed for 4 months now, not counting the earlier trials.
I'm thinking next year. I would be freaking out if I had taken the J&J recently

is the J&J vaccine the only US developed vaccine?

OR - simply supplementing your intake with commonly available blood thinners like children's aspirin and fish oils. That might be more productive than "freaking out".

Only women under the age of 48 had the rare blood clots and they developed the clots 10 to 13 days after receiving the J&J shot.

It would be so ironic if you caught Covid and died from blood clots. That's one of the many things Covid messes with. I imagine a lifelong disability wouldn't be factored into your calculation either.

Pfizer has 2 manufacturing plants in the US one is located in Portage, ( near Kalamazoo) Michigan.

Pfizer co partnered with BioNTec of Germany to make the Pfizer vaccine.

Agree. The incidence is no higher than normal control data, but J&J are being cautious under scrutiny.

I am very versed at determining acceptable risk.
You aren’t. The incidence of clots from COVID are many times greater than from the vaccine, and will be even if ten times more thrombosis cases come to light.

6 our of 7 million. So much for science. It is understood that there will always be some side effects and negative outcomes to any vaccine, that's why vaccine producers were given legal immunity.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

But your response in #15 is about my comments relative to catching and dying of covid. So now that is out of the way. You want to know why I'm skeptical about the vaccine? The answer is in the OP. J&J is skeptical too.

If that was the case we would have done zippo in response to Covid.

It’s ‘out of the way’?

It’s ‘out of the way’?
Um, well yea... With all the changing data and poor communication from Fauci, I consider the risk of contracting Covid acceptable based on my personal level of exposure and protection
