Under Trump, we are becoming more and more like China and Russia each day.

Say hello to state capitalism bebbe!

Of course many people have already heard about Trump wanting federal stake in Intel, and using the CHIPS act as the basis. Well, Intel is just one company, Trump wants to take stakes in more companies, and again, they want to use the CHIPS act to do it.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is looking into the government taking equity stakes in Intel
(INTC.O), opens new tab and other chipmakers in exchange for grants under the CHIPS Act, which aims
to spur factory-building in the U.S., two sources said.

As part of a plan to revive U.S. manufacturing - a key Trump agenda - Lutnick said earlier on Tuesday
the U.S. government wants an equity stake in Intel in exchange for cash grants approved by the
administration of former President Joe Biden.

Now Lutnick wants to expand that plan to other companies, according to a White House official and
a person familiar with the situation.

You should have labels the thread “Mamdani”, I hear he likes communism.

Thank you Joe for the chips act.
An intelligent way to increase high value manufacturing and national security

I’m not upset at Trump.

I’m upset at Republicans and Trump supporters for their abject cowardice at not being able to push back against this kind of stuff.

Would Intel be issuing new stock for this? Or are we again subsidizing shareholders by buying their shares?

So Nutlick is looking into creating some kind of a Pay To Play/extortion scheme?

My head's gonna explode trying to keep up with which Trump admin 2.0 appointee is the most inept or corrupt.

Not being able to.....or even just plain not pushing back at all.

I think like 80% of them would be perfectly happy if Trump became a dictator.

Thank you Joe? For signing a bill developed by a bipartisan group, and passed with bipartisan support? He had little to do with it.

Strange. Not many comments from Trump supporters. Hopefully, they’re embarrassed, but I suspect none of them really care.
