Can't wait for the cult to explain how this is good.

Imagine that.

If only some dumbass Canadian named OlNate predicted EXACTLY this scenario both months ago, and years ago, when the first round of dumbass blanket tariffs were issued by Trump 1.0.

Yeah, **** it, I'm gonna be smug as hell about this. ;)

Any company that does business with China deserves to go out of business.

*And you'd better damn well believe I'd gladly pick fruit and vegetables in 100-degree heat, too. Who needs Mexicans?!

*If you believe that, I have some beach-front property in the Mojave Desert I'd like to sell to you.

MAGA!

My company was charged a tariff when I purchased some parts from mouser.com one month ago.

Shame on you, Mouser for being "hostile and political"

lol

But I guess Amazon isn't supposed to explain to their customers, used to getting cheap shit from China, why their prices suddenly shot up.

Personally, I don't care about Bezos or Amazon. In fact, **** Amazon. They're worse than 2000s Wal-Mart ever was. But that's not the point. The point is a lot of ordinary small businesses, including those that use some of these techie platforms, are going to get hammered hard. Many will go out of business or at minimum, have to get leveraged hard to stay in business.

And tons of those small businesses are Republican owned.

Pre-Trump: Consumer grade security camera, $75.
Tariff-Trump: Consumer grade security camera, $184.

But but tariffs are 'external revenue'! Trump brags about taking in trillions on tariffs! That's money coming into the country, from China, right?

We found a small business dealing in yummy goods from around the world through Walmart. They got their name out there and we are now buying directly from them.
We also did buy our dog's food through Amazon just to find out that, getting it directly from that pet store, is actually cheaper.
Live and learn.

As a long time business owner / principal, I can tell you that we're not going to be eating any of these costs.

And as I mentioned before, I already ordered an increase in our LABOR rates. I was being proactive.

One thing Amazon does is facilitate literally millions of independent and small businesses.

Those small operators are doomed.

Yep. To be accurate, an increasing number of those small businesses are Chinese sellers (Amazon's attempts to compete with Temu), but there are indeed distributors here on Amazon and other platforms who import from China and resell here.

At the very least the Chinese sellers create logistics jobs in the US as the products are delivered. Or at least did.

Hell, Walmart (Sam Walton was born in Oklahoma, lived in Iowa and created his dynasty in Arkansas where he was a devout Christian) became the RICHEST American company by selling products from (cheap labor) foreign countries.
