That is quite a claim to make. What timeframe are you referring to? Most in the past year? Most in the past ten years? Most in the past one hundred years? Most ever?

I am very interested in seeing those statistics. I cannot imagine it is true.

Wait, I can see how it is possible. It could be a matter of bad wording.
It is possible that more major advances have come from the U.S. than from any other country for a given time period.
I would find it very hard to believe that more major advances have come from the U.S than from the rest of the world combined.

You would find it hard to believe because it is not true. The US has a unique ability to exploit the work of others on a grand scale, but as for being the centre point of major advances over the last say 200 years... hardly.
