US added 22,000 jobs in August, short of expectations

Why does the richest state in the country—California, which has been run by Democrats for years—have the nation’s highest unemployment rate? It goes from one debt crisis to the next. Why is that, and how is that Trump’s fault?

Liberals keep bragging on how rich the state is even though fifteen million Californians are on that state’s version of Medicaid. It offers free primary care, mental health services, vision, and dental care for illegal aliens. If Californians wants to do that, great. But its citizens need to understand that it will come out of their hides, wealthy or not, not mine. Let them soak their own rich people.
Despite the rant, the reality is that generally speaking, California and the rest of the blue states subsidize the red states.

So you STILL have no idea why the UE is higher in CA even after someone clues you in…

Governor Hairgel’s spokesperson clued me in that it’s Trump’s fault 😆:

"California is clear eyed about how Trump's failed policies are impacting the job market in California and nationally. His war on affordability and small businesses through his chaotic tariff schemes and his job- and economy-killing immigration raids are having real impacts. We will continue to fight back against Trump's incompetence, so that California can maintain its position as the 4th largest economy in the world, and protect our families from Trump's failed Presidency.”

and you keep trying to make a correlation between state budgets and UE.

No, the correlation is Democratic incompetence, because this state is always having issues balancing its budget. If they are in a $12 billion deficit even before the new fiscal year starts and waaaay above their initial projection, just imagine where they’ll be if there IS a recession.

There has been this serious quality decline in your posts or I just didn't realize how bad they always were.

Coming from you that is quite the complement. 😆

U.S. job growth continued to slow down in August, with just 22,000 new jobs—a sign that the labor market is deteriorating markedly.

Friday’s report adds to a summer of slow hiring and points to a stagnant job market that has lengthened job searches, shut young people out of employment and increased unemployment for Black workers.

The Labor Department’s report also highlighted weakness from earlier in the year. The government revised its numbers from previous months and said that the economy lost a net 13,000 jobs in June. It was the first such decline since December 2020.

The losses in August were widespread
, with the report showing drops in employment across sectors including manufacturing and finance. Unemployment rose to 4.3% from 4.2%. That is still relatively low, suggesting that immigration restrictions are crimping the supply of available workers.

The report was also the first since President Trump a month ago fired the head of the agency that puts together the jobs data, after the July release painted a surprisingly gloomy picture of the economy.

Friday’s report all but seals the case that the hot jobs market of the postpandemic years is over....

So what? You voted for a wilted head of lettuce who didn't even have a coherent economic plan.
I didn’t vote for Trump.
Then conversely inflation under Biden is all on Biden voters. Inflation hit a 40 year high under Biden. All Biden voters' fault.
Do you ever think these things through? :ROFLMAO:
What did Biden do that caused global inflation?

Biden didn’t run on lowering prices and then haphazardly slap tariffs on islands only inhabited by penguins 🤣🤣🤣

You can’t admit Trump’s tariffs are causing this mess.

Where’s all these manufacturing jobs he bellowed? Supposedly trillions of dollars were to pour into US. Where’s that? It’s all bullshit and lies.
One does not go bankrupt 4 times by accident.

Okay, and I acknowledged such above, but your 'observations' that Trump is wiping out the economy is not a fact either.

I would call the highest unemployment since the pandemic "wiped out", but you & I may differ.
