Union threatens Retribution for House Dems Opposing Keystone.....

The State Department is wrapping up its national interest determination of the project. That is expected to end by early May, allowing Kerry to send his recommendation over to the White House.

I've proven with others on this board that I can speak evenly about this administration, especially on KXL.
With you, I will never let my guard down and give all sides as I see them due to your 100% hyper-partisan rant/hackery at the President .

Yeah whatever Nimby, you can save all that BS about Partisan Rant.....All Politics and Any politics is Partisan. Which around here.....All know just how much you are so evenly fair with your alleged concept of Obama and this Administration and those feelings and emotional rescue with the Democrats.

Although, that is why you couldn't figure out that Part with what the Unions were saying about and to Obama and the Democrats.

My how people have changed on taxes since the days of Eisenhower.
We have Reagan and wanting to be like the Joneses next door to thank for that.
And to think we really need an overhaul of our entire infrastructure built during IKE, as it has now aged to its life span.
I see this rancher not recognizing the federal gov't until he needs to hide behind the Constitution of the FEDERAL GOV'T.
Not to mention those hiding behind the skirt of the 2nd amendment.

Watch the spending in the GOP Senate primaries in LA, MS, GA, SC, NC, KY, KS and NE . :lamo

I wouldn't be surprised if the decision is made by the next president.

I'm watching Linc, that is what politics has become these days. Money, lies, dirt, muckracking, done by both sides. Ideas, solutions, visions mean nothing, just the negative attack ads. Opposition research, but I guess that is okay. That is as lone as it is your side doing it, wrong if its the other side. The your is the proverbial your, not you in particular.

Your mentioning of Eisenhower brought back memories of how things ought to be, when most Americans trusted their own government. Perhaps why is that Washington D.C. could have been on Mars back them for what government had to do with the daily lives of individuals. Sure the top bracket was 91%, but no one ever paid that. Total federal spending was around 75 billion.

Nevada, westerners have a completely different mindset.

As far as the lies, money and muckraking you speak of, I only see it in GOP primaries right now, not the DEMs.
This could be the best year yet for GOP primaries since 2006. :lamo
In the 2014 general election, you have to admit the GOP/Kochs started that way early last year . eace

We have 330 million people and need to get a grasp on an energy plan as part of an overhaul of our infrastructure.
What will energy be like for your grands when they are your age, about 2075 huh?
Nevada, westerners have a completely different mindset.
I'll be out there in another month and will give you first-hand reporting from the locals .

Everyone on the board knows what to expect when you post a thread on your President MMC.
Expect me to always answer them back.

Although, that is why you couldn't figure out that Part with what the Unions were saying about and to Obama and the Democrats.
What do you think of my Union taking Gov. Quinn to court over lowering COLA?
Pretty stupid huh?
BUt look at the poutrage when Paul Ryan tried to lower the COLA of "MMC's" pension.
The NEOs in both parties went ape-****.

We can't cut the increase for Generals now can we MMC ?

The Dems screw the unions, then unions screw the Dems; poetic justice, either way.

More meaningless twaddle.

That is unfair. Unions have the right, and the responsibility, to express the sentiment of their members. If that goes for twaddle, we are in disagreement.

I should have quoted. I was referring more to the nonsensical responses from some of our esteemed members than the general premise of the thread.

I reread all the posts and each poster before you posted on the subject and without the usual hyperbole you might be referencing from other threads. Also, by putting your words in quotes, whose words would you be quoting?

Well, I think the issue is the entrenched party leaders in Washington. Everyone votes for the candidate that they believe will best represent them, but after a year or so in Washington they all change. The Reids and Boehners and McConnels and Pelosis all need to go.

I'd rather not name names, so I'll PM you with who I was talking about.

I figured he was just boiling his own post down to its essence.

I think all the nasty attack ads in 2012 ran be fellow Republicans against Romney hurt him more in the long run than the ads ran by Obama in the swing states. A lot of Republicans have told me while Romney was trying to win the nomination, Obama and team were defining him in the swing states which Romney couldn't respond to.

But left unsaid about them was all the nasty stuff going on between the Republicans themselves. Romney came out of the primaries with a very high unfavorable rating, especially among independents. I forget the exact numbers, but it was something like Nationwide 40% viewed him favorable, 50% unfavorable. But independents viewed him worse than those numbers. Romney was able to bring it his favorable ratings up to a 44/44 tie, but could never get his favorable to overtake his unfavorable. Meanwhile, Obama wasn't that hot either, finishing up at something like 51/45. But it was enough to get the indies to split their vote 50-50 and with the larger Democratic base, the rest is history as they say.

We could become self sufficient in energy if we had the will. Right now we are buying around 750 billion worth of overseas oil. That money spent is providing money, jobs, helping foreign economies, not ours. It also is 75% or our trade deficit with the world which doesn't get any attention. Everyone follows the national deficit, but not the trade deficit which is in my opinion anyway, almost equally important.

I always thought one could come up with a happy medium between the environmentalist regulation and energy production. I am probably wrong on that, but there is always a middle way. In today's political charged atmosphere, that road isn't travel at all.

I will look forward to your updates from the west. The west is unique, the federal government owns most of the land out there, not so back here in the east.

Well that shouldn't be a surprise Nimby.....ever since I came here 2 years ago. I have been on to what is up with Obama. Taking it to him non stop just like I do everywhere I go and am. Just like I was the 2 years Prior to coming here and going all the way back to when Obama lied to the Demos here in Chicago and jumped for Carol Mosley Braun's Senator Seat. Lying and tricking her ass so he could run for that spot.

Of course we watched him lose to Boobie Rush's seat.....and knew that none here thought much about him even after his 2006 DNC Speech. Not Jesse.....Not Farrakan. Not Durbin.....not even Boobie Rush himself, and sure as hell not even the MS media. They only jumped on the bandwagon when they seen that he had the chance to win. Yet it all played out.....with them waiting and waiting, to choose over Hillary, who they were undecided on here in Chicago. Which really goes back to Hillary's past and When Old Man Daley was the Mayor. Since Emil Lewis the use to be Godfather, and several others of the Illinois House go back that far in time.

So really....it doesn't bother me that you answer back. I just prefer you to remained focused on the Topic at hand. Not jump off into other stuff where you then throw whatever dirt you can upon those from the Right.

May you can put up a continuing thread on like Random Political thoughts.....wherein then anything under the sun and moon is fair game. Just sayin.

My point on GOP primaries wasn't about the POTUS, but the Senate, where we have wicked battles right now in your Georgia, even SC, North Carolina, KY, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Alaska and so on .

Georgia has been quiet, Nunn pretty much has the nomination locked up, she has only to beat some unknown. On the Republican side, not many ads have hit the airways yet. Kingston has had a couple, but his is all I can remember seeing. Nothing on the Governor's race, although I did receive a flyer from the Deal Camp.

I have heard about Kentucky, but the rest so far has been off my radar. We'll see what happens. Ugly primaries can sure hurt any candidate that wins them. Romney was just an example.

I'd like to see the unions rise up like this when the democrats propose bringing more illegals here to compete with American workers. Won't happen.

I believe we need to continually be upgrading our infrastructure. There is no reason for power outages on power line "backbones" due to inclement weather. And, what State could be worse off with better aqueducts and roads?
