Now is the time to bring together patriotic citizens in one thread who stand strong for our US democracy and constitution under our rights to free speech. This is not a thread to sow discord against Trump supporters in DP but to allow a space for democratic members to follow our nation's notables via their freedom of speech words after a suspicious election result. As dire as life in the US and the entire world apparently looks here on out under a tyrannic US regime in 2025, it's my hope that we the patriotic humanitarian people may protect all things right to the best of our abilities that'll lay the groundwork for future generations. The objective of this thread is to collect as many ongoing notable quotes as possible for us to use as promising guidelines to help us all to fucus on the end game once this dark cloud is properly disposed of. I welcome democratic member's postings of notable quotes post-election 2024 along with any of their own free speech comments that pertains to the subject matter of this thread. Lets brainstorm and guardrail as democratic one. :coffee:

A fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results. That principle, as much as any other, distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny. And anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it. At the same time, in our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States, and loyalty to our conscience and to our God. My allegiance to all three is why I am here to say, while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign—the fight: the fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness, and the dignity of all people. A fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best. That is a fight I will never give up.

I will never give up the fight for a future where Americans can pursue their dreams, ambitions, and aspirations. Where the women of America have the freedom to make decisions about their own body and not have their government telling them what to do. We will never give up the fight to protect our schools and our streets from gun violence. And America we will never give up the fight for our democracy, for the rule of law, for equal justice, and for the sacred idea that every one of us, no matter who we are or where we start out, has certain fundamental rights and freedoms that must be respected and upheld.

Nope. There is no unity with fascists. If they want to destroy this great nation, they're going to have to do it alone.

Preach it louder for the people in the back.

Oh, I've accepted it.

But I'm still as hostile as I was before the election.

Also, this isn't going to save Liz.
Nope. The 'enemies within' start at the conservative Republicans who turned on Trump and the purge is coming.

It functioned on the 5th. Will it function again?

The only thing that'll bring about unity is if the Trump haters can let go of their hate and embrace America First.

But...if they can't do that, it doesn't matter. Trump will work toward America First anyway.

After years of screaming voter fraud that didn’t exist. After years of still dealing with what happened on January 6th. After years of being called commies, socialists and pedophiles. After years of right wing radicals attacking our power grids and racists and MAGA-mites employing intimidation tactics. After years of fake news and misleading social media. After years of attacks on minorities and the LBGTQ community. After years of bashing the e military. After years of advocating violence toward others. After years of going “oh well” over school shootings. After dealing with aftermath of overtiring Roe v Wade and watching pro-life expecting mothers suffer when their health and lives become endangered.

You don’t want us to oppose Trump? NOW you want unification on YOUR terms?

**** THAT BULLSHIT!!!!!

Nope. There is no unity with fascists. If they want to destroy this great nation, they're going to have to do it alone.
This is from whichever side you are bitching about. Bullshit.

No it will NOT.

Nope. There is no unity with fascists.
Correct

If they want to destroy this great nation, they're going to have to do it alone.
They'll do it with what appears to be far too many sympathizers backing the enemies of our state. What us democratic loyalists will have are those in important positions who hopefully will get in the way of destroyers of America.

My internal question is how long before important democratic notables will be able to speak out in support of saving democracy will be silenced.

The only thing that'll bring about unity is if the Trump haters can let go of their hate and embrace America First.
A fair America is what democracy is all about. It will be only a very short time that clearly exposes Trump 2.0 regime's misguided selfish and reckless intentions.

But...if they can't do that, it doesn't matter. Trump will work toward America First anyway.
Correct, it doesn't matter now - DJT will embolden his Trump First mantra even more so.

You don’t want us to oppose Trump?
I certainly hope that you don't think that's what I support. I can't begin to speak my mind about what I think should happen to DJT and his goons because of this board's rules. What I am hoping and promoting in this thread is for us to unite and resist to the best of our abilities much of what's coming our way now - and hoping that what notables are sharing with us post the 2024 election is accurate that some guardrails are still in place to get us through a horrible future dead ass straight ahead. A democratic life is the only way to live so unless what some notables are sharing with us turn out to be untrue, it's going to get much uglier than we can imagine. This is basically all that we have left to believe in in order to bounce back.

It functioned on the 5th. Will it function again?
At this point in time during the 4.5 years from now it's all in no man's land. imo Free speech will face endless strangulations. imo

Democracy may very well need to go underground while daily chaos rules every day. That silent democracy down under will need it's cautious leaders while we the democractic people remain united. A new war abroad may also be well on it's way. Who knows how any of this may turn out - until baby huey is neutralized.

"America's a resilient nation, and so we're going to get through this political moment and continue to be the greatest country, in my view, in the history of the world," he said. "But we have problems that we have to solve."

While Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton said following the Democratic losses that the party spends "way too much time trying not to offend anyone" and called for a new approach from the party on the transgender issues, Jeffries said Tuesday that he "didn't want to get ahead of the conversations we're going to have collectively."

"There are 435 members of the House of Representatives, which means at the end of the day, that means there are 435 independent contractors who, at the end of the day, are most accountable — and should be —to the communities they represent," Jeffries said. "We'll have a responsibility as House Democrats to have that conversation about how to move forward."

If Moulton's idea on transgender issues is to move to the right, I'm not interested. It sounds like he's saying dems try to hard not to offend anyone - people who are in the dem demorgraphics. If that's his intent, Moulton can **** off.
