In the "not surprised at all category", it seems Nancy Mace, the very thirsty Republican Representative from SC, apparently asked someone to blackmail her ex-fiance (not ex-husband mind you!) so she could get ownership of two homes. She seems to have some type of images, so maybe this was revenge porn?

Republican. Forget about personal responsibility.

Mace is no different from the other scumbags Dear Leader attracts - immoral, idiotic, cowardly lickspittles all.

Mace definitely seems to have several screws loose. But she voted for gay marriage, so I guess I’m just supposed to let her blackmail whoever she wants. /s

She could be the next President.

Given the idiocy now rampant in the nation, it would not surprise me a bit. For reasons I can't understand far too many Americans are addicted to dumb.

Trump currently has me actually nostalgic for the days of Wubya's flavor of buffoonery - I fully expect to be nostalgic for Donald's imbecility someday because we've elected an even bigger moron after Dear Leader has consumed his last Big Mac.

Part of the issue stems from how so many people gather their news – largely through social media (which tends to be superficial at best) and other sources that cater to their preconceptions. And too many politicians feed that by engaging in performative acts to produce sound bites.

Continuous reinforcement of one's beliefs doesn't make for an informed citizenry.

Hard to fathom that a future occupant of the White House would be less informed than Trump. (I may not be the best person to predict that though, I assumed Republicans were trying to purposefully lose the 2016 election by nominating Trump.)
