BBC World News said:The UN Security Council is due to hold an emergency session on a controversial rocket launch by North Korea.
The US and EU said the launch demanded a strong response from the Security Council, but China and Russia have called for restraint.
North Korea said the rocket put a satellite into orbit but the US and South Korea disputed this, saying it was a cover for a missile test.
They said the launch failed, with parts of the rocket landing in the Pacific.

Hopefully whatever the outcome, North Korea will be crushed economically, even more so than now.
I hope the government in NKorea fails.

How the hell can it be crushed anymore economically? Something ridiculous like 1 million people die a year in that country due to starvation. North Korea doesn't need more sanctions it needs a new government, that isn't rogue and that is willing to feed its people.
Governments like those never last long anyway.
Whats the UN going to do about it really? Write them a letter? Send a team to "investigate"?
That'll teach 'em.
You hope they fail or their policies fail?I hope the government in NKorea fails.
They've been around more than 60 years.
Yeah and? Thats a short period of time regardless.
Okay. I guess we're thinking different time scales.
Yes. The UN already said "Don't do it!"Whats the UN going to do about it really? Write them a letter? Send a team to "investigate"?
Stop all aid and let them starve.
The United Nations is alot like Obama.
Makes alot of noise but is completely irrelevant to all concerned.
To be more precise, the UN makes alot of noise but doesnt bother doing anything about it; even though its completely within there power. Obama doesnt want a third front opening up. The national debt is nearing 8 trillion and the next year will be very costly trying to get the economy back onto its feet and pulling the NATO boys out of Iraq wont be a cheap and dandy process either.
Dont forget taking out guns... after all, -that- will make us all safer.Yeah, Obama is much too concerned with social programs and destroying the free market to worry about essential government functions like defending our country and our allies...

Now is the best time for Americas enemies and competitors to make a move. :shock:To be more precise, the UN makes alot of noise but doesnt bother doing anything about it; even though its completely within there power. Oh come on. Is a 60 year life span for a government system a long period of time? Not really.
Now is the best time for Americas enemies and competitors to make a move.
