There’s only 1 reason and that reason is rank hypocrisy at the expense of economic health and resiliency, national security, and geopolitical strategy.
To other asian countries you mean.Good news. Hopefully this shifts some production away from China.
Actually, China blinked on April 24th when they started exempting US goods from tariffs after realizing they had no other source.
Nonsense. The U.S. is a consumer economy, where as China is an export driven manufacturing economy. Trade is mutually beneficial.More than anything, I think this is a reaction to the fact that free trade has led to the US financing the rapid growth of a rival nation. They benefit far more from the relationship than we do.
So you want Americans making tube socks instead of good paying jobs in tech that will go to immigrants from India and Pakistan? I think that is Trump's plan. He thinks Americans are inferior workers. There’s only 1 reason and that reason is rank hypocrisy at the expense of economic health and resiliency, national security, and geopolitical strategy.

Which will never happen. It is just more distractions from the utter corruption the Trump administration is involved in.Takes 2 to tango. 90 day pause gives room for negotiations toward a trade agreement
exactly right
the left hate the success for the USA that Trump brings ... 7 pages here shows it
What "success", Stealthycat? A 30% consumption tax?
It seems to me you're banking on some "success" that has yet to occur. Meanwhile, the additional taxes are here and present.
In addition - if there were to be positive effects coming-out of these events, it has not been shown Trump needed to put us through all this misery to get said effects.
If he's the Grand Negotiator, why didn't he negotiate?
The tech sector suffers from the same problem as manufacturing and will ultimately meet the same fate. More and more of it is being offshored to India and Asia for the very same reason. Why deal with the legal and economic baggage of the American worker when you can hire someone over there for less drama and comparative peanuts? So you want Americans making tube socks instead of good paying jobs in tech that will go to immigrants from India and Pakistan? Creating economic dependencies that are impossible to detangle is part of China’s geopolitical strategy. And they’re winning.
China corners the battery energy storage market - CRU Group
Chinese companies have successfully commodified lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for energy storage systems. They are cornering the market with vast scale and super-low costs in the same way they did for the solar PV sector.www.crugroup.com China Aims to Corner the Undersea Mineral Market, Too
The race is on to tap the riches of minerals in the high seas.foreignpolicy.com
From what I heard on CNBC today it was hedge funds and investment banks who sold during the selloff. According to the statistics retail investors stayed put and increased their holdings.
Of course that gets in the way of fantasies of the Left.
I paused my 401k because of his shit. I just put it back after this news.To say nothing about economic (& other) anxiety!
Increasing economic output and lowering prices thereby creating an improved standard of living.
Gentlemen, these are all valid points.
But this is not to be conflated with my purchasing my socks or my kids' toys.
If Trump were to target specific critical industries in a non-chaotic & beneficial manner, without disrupting our economy, I and those like me would not just not complain - but give him the credit he's due.
You can't cite righteous general policies, then exclude Trump's destructive actions. It don't work that way.
You got baited into the con so you can own the libs or whatever you want to troll woth that dayThere’s only 1 reason and that reason is rank hypocrisy at the expense of economic health and resiliency, national security, and geopolitical strategy.

I dont need this shit.. sit there, dont get arrested and shut the **** up you know
Unions and labor laws .This is true.
But Americans will never work at the wages or under the conditions of overseas labour. Nor will we pollute our land and air to that level, nor subject our workforce to those manufacturing hazards.
Trying to move various & sundry manufacturing to America is a fool's errand.
Better to focus on science, technology, and IP, while selectively manufacturing in national interest and growing technologies.
No, we're talking about free trade among private entities, not China. Companies trade with each other, not countries. Trump has some people confused.
By doing nothing. For 90 days. Again.
