So now you want a fart tax too? Or just euthanasia of those you disagree with?
No where close.
WASHINGTON — It’s less costly to get electricity from wind turbines and solar panels than coal-fired power plants when climate change costs and other health impacts are factored in, according to a new study published in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences.
In fact—using the official U.S. government estimates of health and environmental costs from burning fossil fuels—the study shows it’s cheaper to replace a typical existing coal-fired power plant with a wind turbine than to keep the old plant running. And new electricity generation from wind could be more economically efficient than natural gas.

Solar Power & Wind Power Now Cheaper Than Coal Power In US:
I think the scientists are emitting confused signals. Until that changes, I would only vote for more research. Maybe the UN should mandate all the wise men into conclave and leave them there, till they can make up their minds.

Why am I not surprised that you would choose an environmental activist site to give a totally skewed outlook like this.
Why am I not surprised that you didn't read and see that the article was based-on a paper conducted by actual professional scientists? But heck, it's just easier to place your hands over your ears and shout, LA-LA-LA-LA, eh? I can never understand why people choose to be uninformed.
They're only cheaper because of regulation and subsidy.
Another one who didn't bother to read the article. If you did, you will easily read that it's not the angle played.
Nothing against Eisenhower, but using a quote as proof simply does not cut it. At all.

Are you claiming that federal grant money does not fund climate research?
I live in a solar powered house and I occasionally add another panel to increase my capacity. Mine weren't subsidized, but the panels I just bought were half the price of the ones I first bought 20 years ago. It's an increasingly popular form of energy and with the growing demand production costs are lower.

Agreed that they are more mainstream now and thus have more production demand. However, the industry itself, their manufacture, is heavily subsidized. It's cool you've gone that way, but seriously, you didn't take the write-off?

And, as the technology gets better, the price will continue to decrease.
I am getting solar panels put on my roof for free. A company will buy and install them, hook them up to the grid and cut me a cheque once a year. A win-win situation, if you ask me.
I'm sure it does sometimes. But it does not have the sinister purpose that you claim it has.

Seriously? Now that's subsidy. I live beyond the nearest electricity. There is no grid to hook up to. Wouldn't want the snooping smart meter anyway.
Yes, I agree that the industry has received subsidy, and hope that as more people go that route they become profitable and don't need it anymore. And no I really did not do the write off.
Typically it doesn't, but once a paradigm has control over a field of study, it is amazing the lengths people can go to in order to protect it.
Please show me real examples of this. As I stated many posts back, I have yet to see any proof of this.
