Tucker Carlson, join the military and go do a tour, then discuss Duckworth

So many people in this country who were unwilling to serve are more than willing to question the bravery of those who have. I remember Trump telling us that he did not consider McCain a hero as he had been captured. What did the brave Trump followers say, NOTHING. Now we have another jackass Tucker Carlson calling Duckworth who joined and served and was wounded a coward. He is the coward. If he wants to question Duckworth as being a coward then he should join up and serve a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan and then he can question her bravery. Until then the coward that he is should just keep his trap shut about her being a coward. And those that are saying it is his right, you should join and serve a tour and then say you agree with him again. Just so you know I volunteered in 69 and come from a military family where my father and 8 out of nine children served.

Carlson called her a coward, moron, and claims she hates America. He took Duckworth's words and twisted them around. Her point was that we should have a dialog about statues in our country. After Carlson went after her on television, Duckworth said she would only appear on his program unless he apologized for questioning her patriotism.

There's absolutely no excuse for Carlson's behavior. He is trying to pick a fight with somebody who might be Biden's VP choice in a couple of weeks.

He said it, it was in the context of her refusing to come on his show to debate her comments.....it was harsh...but it was accurate.

Why leverage her disability? She is still responsible for what she says. There are others who can't feed themselves. She should be glad to be alive and able to be a House member even if she is a jackass. What are Biden's credentials? Aside from spending 30 some odd years on the tax payers tit and getting nothing done. He acts like cops started killing blacks when Trump got elected, on the contrary, Biden turned a blind, albeit senile eye.

Did they call one of our military vets a coward? No, in fact Biden's son was serving when he got sick. I know trumpsters will support anyone who supports Trump, but any American with any patriotism should be disgusted with Carlson calling Duckworth a coward. Where does that put you?

It was a terrible word choice and he should retract it. No one has a duty to appear on a political commentary show with an advocate trying to make fame off attacking the person.

No one is a "coward" for refusing to be spotlighted on TV for any reason. It is foolish for any politician to agree to be attacked in person on an adversary's TV show or otherwise. She has no requirement to give Tucker 1 second of time.

That she lost her legs in combat doesn't make her brave. It does mean she served and she paid a terrible price to do so. I suspect 90% of people in combat for the first time are terrified. Soldiers don't fight because they are brave or cowards. They do what they do because they must. Her service does not show bravery. HOWEVER, her getting past her terrible physical combat wounds and permanent loses IS courageous - definitely.

It is not her military service the defines her as brave. Her going past such terrible lose and suffering does. It does not make her right about anything politically or otherwise, but in her endurance she proved she is no coward.

My kid has suffered terrible combat related injuries in the theater of Iraq and Afghanistan - but remains in when could get out. The terrible wounds that will last and worsen across life do not make a hero or a brave person. Pushing past them to continue and advance including in service does both.

Duckworth is NOT a coward - but not for military service and being wounded. I deeply disagree with her - and her claiming she can not be criticized is hypocritical given she attacked the bravest general and commander this country ever had - George Washington. He put everything he had on the line including his life against virtually impossible odds - and if you explore he suffered along with the rest of his troops - something few generals do.

This woman's family served in every American conflict going back to the Revolutionary war. She served in Iraq as one of first American female combat pilots. She earned that purple heart. Tucker calling her "unpatriotic" and a "coward" is like school on a Saturday, No Class and without merit. She was elected Director of the Illinois VA the same year that Tucker was on "dancing with the stars". Think about that..

There is a saying in the military, you do not fight for your country, you fight for the man next to you in the fox hole. And I have not problem with saying you disagree with her political stands as that is what our country is all about, but never use the word coward to anyone who has served.
