Trust God and call it a day? I saw that bumper sticker this morning. I think it's stupid. How about trust yourself instead?

As an adult do you not know the difference between right and wrong? Does a book have to tell you? What's with this belief in an all powerful imaginary being that is invisible? To my knowledge not a person has proved this entity even exists yet I'm told my many I should ask for forgiveness from this invisible entity and then worship said entity?

Sorry, but that sounds crazy to me even after ten years of catholic school.
 
As much as we desire/attempt to make right decisions, we cannot always do so because we can't know what will happen 5 minutes from now...I tried it my way, now I try to do it God's way because only He can see into the future...

Which God are we supposed to trust? Let me guess, the one you were raised to believe in.

??? How could you possibly believe you know what "God's way" is?
If you've been listening to a burning bush, or a serpent in a fruit tree, I'd consider getting a second opinion.

i believe it to be the King James bible; it comes under read it and see if God talks to you thru it.

I have read it. Cover to cover. Twice! And not only did I not find god talking to anybody through it, the god described within it's pages isn't a god any sane or moral person should even deign to worship. In fact, the only people I could even imagine the KJV speaking to would be people who must already be racist, misogynist, petty, vengeful, capricious, punitive, jealous and genocidal in the extreme. Certainly no moral person with more than a 5th grade education could stomach worshiping such a horrible and immoral deity as that. The author of the cosmos is not the author of that book! Why worship the god of bad examples?

I can't tell you which God to worship...that is totally your decision...what I can tell you is, Jehovah's direction has always worked/tried and true for me...

Anyone who is brainwashed into believing 100% in a particular religion would say that.
 


I wonder...is there a specific god they're referencing? Or is there a general god who takes care of all our mistakes.

Why does man pray? If you think about it you're demanding that the most powerful force in the universe change his mind. What's in it for him?

You should know that I was chatting with Jehovah and he’s pretty pissed off at his followers not exercising a shred of personal responsibility and instead putting everything on his shoulders. He said that he’s really busy managing the merger of Andromeda and the Milky Way and really does not have the time for your little daily prayers for handouts. He strongly prefers that you go it on your own and take care of yourself for a decade or two and leave him be so he can focus on more important and pressing matters than, well, you.

Just wanted to make sure you’re aware. Of course you can always continue bothering, interrupting, disturbing him at your own cost.

You'd think that, if anyone, the creator of the cosmos would know how he did it, or at least not lie about it.

i don't have much faith in my car; needs repair, breaks down, rusts out and will run out of gas.

the Bible never does. my King James bible never needs repair, never, breaks down, never rusts out and is always full of gas

must be God that wrote it.

No copy of the so-called bible is reliable.

Try this. Get five people in a room and tell the first a story in private. get them to spread the story to the others in private. When it comes back to you it will be unrecognizable.

Also, god gave Adam ONE woman? Pretty lame since he should have known the DNA would deteriorate over a few generations. every farmer knows you need to change up the females now and then. God didn't!


What else didn't he know and how come he had to kill thousands of Egyptians who were chasing his "chosen people" when could have simply made them fall asleep.

So, if he lets a Christian die in a car accident while the atheist in the other car survives, that is God's way?
