Trump's new executive order says private law firms will do free work for accused cops

This is completely illegal and will be stopped by the courts.

In an executive order signed Monday, President Donald Trump instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to help defend police officers named in civil rights lawsuits. According to the order, whatever system the Justice Department creates "shall include the use of private-sector pro bono assistance for such law enforcement officers."

Dumpletits doesn't have the authority to do this.

.... I sense a pattern here.

Makes sense. Trump told cops to not be so gentle with suspects. So now cops accused of brutality can have legal help to argue that “Donnie made me do it,”
Monkey say, monkey do is not a defense that will hold up in court.

Fun fact: When created, the Justice Department's "immediate function was to preserve civil rights.

It set about fighting against domestic terrorist groups who had been using both violence and litigation to oppose the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution.[9]"

There's a lawyer joke in here somewhere.

He thinks he has law firms cowed, so he figures he can pass some EO & they'll obey it.

Anyway, another lawsuit in the making.
