Our friends on the left are not going to like this. With the passage of the BBB, it has to be said Trump has had a remarkably successful start to his second term, and especially so when you look at the history of Presidential second terms (e.g. the struggles of Nixon, Reagan, and Clinton). He's made progress on immigration, he's set back Iran's nuclear program, his actions were the catalyst for ending the 12 Day War, he is making progress dismantling the regulatory state, he's got trading partners jumping through hoops with this tariffs, he may help end the war in Gaza, and he just got his 2017 tax cuts made permanent.

Now, the TDS faithful here will no doubt consider citing these facts as "supporting Trump," and for them there is no greater sin But I'm not doing that with this post, even though I agree with some, not all, of his policies. I would much rather the country have a different President. Trump is dishonest (even by Washington standards), he is crude, his methods show a lack of respect for the law, and his many flaws are likely to run his Presidency into a ditch before this term is out. But one must also acknowledge that Trump is accomplishing what he set out to do whether one supports those things, or not.

Trump will have bad days ahead, but politically, he's riding high at the moment, and only a partisan fool would argue otherwise.

Trump is working hard to prove what the authoritarians say about democracy and its sewing its seeds for its own destruction. What's good for him is bad for tens of millions of people.

Trumps presidency has been a success, unhinged leftists hardest hit

I didn't disagree that it was a success based on his priorities, however my post was focused on the long term health of the country.
A few months ago you libs were declaring him an existential threat to democracy. Do you honestly believe that there will be no election in 2026 and beyond? Or was that a lie just like your comments in post #2

Like Thom Tillis?

Yeah, sure.

I still believe he is an existential threat to democracy. I fully expect ICE, with its new funding, to occupy voting centers on the excuse of looking for illegals and skew the vote. I hope I am wrong, but we have seen unprecedented levels of evil in this administration.

So you believe he will end democracy here in the US. That is what existential threat means. Would you be willing to bet that elections wont happen in 2026 and beyond? Or are you unwilling to put your money where your mouth is?

I think he will maintain the appearance of democracy but it will be dead, similar to what we see in places like Hungary, North Korea, or Russia. If that fits in whatever framework you are coming from cool, if not, cool.

I'm still waiting for end of the Russia-Ukraine war.

That makes no sense. Other than a desire by you to hold on to your nonsensical argument by any means necessary.

You educate yourself on the term "anocracy" if you want it to make sense.

His success doesnt seem to translate into improving anyone's lives or solving the county's problems.

Although I'm not sure it matters as his supporters live vicariously through him. His victories are their victories.

Trump has accomplished more in 6 months than most Presidents do in their entire term(s). So much in fact that I don’t know what he has left to do in his remaining 3.5 years.
So he shipped off a bunch of brown people and gave the elitist snob multi-millionaires and billionaires tax cuts.
3.5 years? He said he might go for a third term. We may have to endure more tax cuts for the rich for however long he decides to remain in power.

Are you serious? He's just begun his occupations.

He's got billions of dollars of concentration camps to build and fill.

Yeah, his poll numbers are in the shitter, the BUB also polls very poorly, he's losing people in all aspects.

He's getting alot done, and he's losing favor with all of it.

If you call getting alot of bad shit done "successful", hey, you be you.

You support evil.
^^^ Yet another example of the truest axiom in American politics:

Conservatives think liberals are people with bad ideas. Liberals think conservatives are bad people with ideas.

Watch how often this plays out on DP. They can't help themselves.
