Yes Trump is a dictator and a fascist, but it's way worse than you think. The Real ID Act of 2005 languished for 20 years, after many states rebelled against the first national ID in the nation's history. Now Trump is putting it on the front burner, by ordering that it be required for domestic air travel, unless you have a passport, and entry into federal facilities that your tax dollars paid for, as well as pay the salaries of everyone working inside. You will need it to enter national parks, and then hospitals.

It's not hard to see that pretty soon you will need it for taking a crap.

Real ID is nothing like your Social Security number, because Social Security is strictly limited on what sorts of information it can gather on you. Not so Real ID, where the sky is the limit. Your Social Security number cannot be connected to a high-resolution, facial recognition scan.

Below is MAGAtard DHS Secretary Kristi Noem helping Trump your rights away.

The Trump administration insists that Real ID is not a central database, but it is. Ominously, the first thing Trump did on his first day in office was announce the massive Stargate database centers, which can hold the massive amounts of data storage that Real ID and facial recognition scans will require.

Data analyst Amani Turnage writes:

"the RFID chip within [a Real ID/Enhanced Drivers Licence] has a unique ID number linked to a secure Department of Homeland Security (DHS) database..."
A Real ID and an Enhanced Drivers License are essentially the same thing, both issued by the Department of Homeland Security.

That central database can then be built out to link to any information the DHS decides, like facial recognition scans, financial records, and medical records.

It is inevitable that national Real ID will eventually include high-resolution, facial recognition scans, so detailed that you can be identified on the street in real time by street cameras. The software is already facial recognition compatible.

The Papers Please Identity Project writes:

“Digital Image Access” (DIA) component of [Real ID] software suite… is already designed to be compatible with automated facial recognition software. The logical next step, of course, would be to add some sort of “hash” or “template” representing each photo to the corresponding SPEXS pointer record, to make it easier to carry out national photo matching and search.”

This should be terrifying to anyone who does not trust Trump, and believes he would put his political opponents in jail if he could.

Just as recently April 27, 2025, The Atlantic Magazine warned Americans that "The Trump administration is pooling data on Americans."

There is push-back. Refuse Real ID is one of the main groups opposing, with the campaign "Stop Real ID" (Below)

As for action in state legislatures, The Portland Press Herald writes in "Maine lawmakers want state to stop issuing Real ID cards":

"Rep. Laurel Libby said her bill to end the Real ID program in Maine is one of several being submitted nationwide in hopes of convincing President-elect Donald Trump and Congress to end the controversial requirement."

In Congress Senators like Bernie Sanders and Ron Wyden were recently making noise about opposing facial recognition, but have fallen strangely silent.

I don't have a problem with Real ID. But I have a problem with this...

It's more likely this would be pushed by liberal administrations than by Trump.

No, it's not. Democrats, Liberals, Independents, Libertarians et al are not the ones excoriating reporters, media sources, judges and the judicial system, to name but a few of the Americans and American institutions REPUBLICAN President trump has been demonizing.

That's what I thought, though I do have a problem with a national unchecked, rogue database. But I have to believe my eyes. It's Trump who is making it happen.

Are you kidding me? The guy has taken federal action against reporters, news outlets, colleges and law firms for being critical of his administration. It’s the Trump administration clearly and readily shown to be more than willing to utilize federal muscle against The First Amendment right to criticize an administration.

You truly need to engage your keyboard for fact checking rather than posting. You aren’t doing yourself any good service making comments as easily shot down as this one.

Oh yeah, we liberals have been the first to support Trump’s ideas on Salvadoran exile fir citizens, his plan for torture worse than waterboarding, and killing the families of terrorists. The Facebook Big Brother stuff is small potatoes.

It's not "Facebook Big Brother" stuff. It's CBDC.

Not really, since they're doing it to select folks at airports when they check their phones. It's why some nations are warning travelers to bring burner phones to the US.

First: as Trump lies all the time.........one cannot believe4 anything he says....
Second: It is astounding to watch what he is doing and trying to do under the guise of "national security".
Third: this is highly reminiscent of the Gestapo " your papers please".......... from a horrid period in human history.
The move to a more authoritarian system continues.....
The EXCUSE of "national security" has become suspect , and is being abused.......for political motives. But sadly it seems to work on many as "national security" implies one should be afraid, concerned and almost paranoid of all these "threats" that seem to surface for political convenience. The person to be "afraid" of is the current dear leader.....

Do you know what's worse than all this nonsense Chicken Littleism about Trump?

It's how your Canadian government stopped the Canadian trucker protests back in the covid days. Do you remember what they did?

(Hint: see that picture I posted.)

I recall back in 2002 when the Patriot Act was passed in response to the attack on 9/11. It gives the president massive sweeping powers he never had before, and many of us us sounded the alarm back then, only to be shouted down that we were 'pro-terrorist' if we didn't support the legislation.

Now we have a president who has shown he is more than willing to trash the Constitution and look you right in the eye while doing it.

For decades one's SSN was a general identifier nation wide....

We didn't devolve into a dictatorship.

Trump's first term:

January 20, 2017 – January 20, 2021

Yet it's "Trump's Fascist "Real ID"

:ROFLMAO:

Real ID database + surveillance cameras everywhere = China's CCP style control. Trump will soon get all those dissenters who expose his constant lies under control. He's going to add another 10 stories to Alcatraz.

Do you actually think the government doesn't already know everything about you? You've been tracked from the moment you were born.

It's Mycroft, what do you expect?

You shouldn’t be able to vote unless you’ve had Bill Gates’ microchip implanted, when are we going to get serious about election integrity?
