And that's the ballgame right there. It took this pile of shit and his radical handlers six months, let me repeat, six months to perform worse than Biden did on inflation, after it took Biden 4 years. Inflation was one of the main reasons why Trump won last November...and of course he not only did absolutely nothing to fix the problem, he's made it worse.

What affect will this have on current Trump policy?

None.

Relevance?

The economy is about the same as it was 6 months ago
It's not. Beef had gone up.
My toys have gone up in price at some price points.
Gas is still the same while rig count is going down. So id call that stable for through moment.
Tariffs are killing ford and gm.
My electricity is gonna go up. My medical most likely will go up.
Dismantling pbs and the department of education isnt what people voted for. They voted for stable prices.

They arent gonna get that. The gop needs to pay at the mid terms and badly. Then a dem needs to win the white house and just arrest everyone period.

The 2 big ones. Not much change there.

Employment/unemployment
Inflation

I think you’re right there that Trump has basically ignored inflation. He’s been too busy with his million and one executive orders to please and placate his base than to solve a problem affecting all Americans.

Biden approval on his handling of inflation, 34.3% approve, 63.3% disapprove - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/issues/inflation

Trump’s approval on his handling of inflation, 39.4% approve, 59.3% disapprove - https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/donald-trump/issues/inflation

Not much difference as both are horrible. It should be noted that last year the economy in general, inflation in particular was the number one or most important issue in folks deciding who to vote for.

You’re correct as to the effect on Trump’s policies. The relevance lies in next year’s midterm election. The democrats currently have an almost 3-point lead in the generic congressional ballot.

Being in full control of government, the republicans own it. How all Americans view that ownership in how Trump and the GOP are governing will dictate how the midterms turnout. Are they, the public happy with or unhappy with the way Trump and company are governing? Satisfied or not satisfied, time for a change or not? The best indicator on this, Trump’s overall job approval/disapproval. Currently at 45.4% approve, 52.4% disapprove.

Inflation is better than it was when Biden left office.

US labor market steady, jobless claims at three-month low

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 4,000 to a seasonally adjusted 217,000 for the week ended July 19, the lowest level since April, the Labor Department said. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast 226,000 claims for the latest week. Claims have declined for six straight weeks and have pulled further away from an eight-month high touched in June.

Trump will never be elected again. Good.
