Looks after average Americans 58% / 41%
Relations with other countries 61% / 38%

Seems like every week, I see an article in which one of his duped cult members is saying, "Wait, why'd he do that? That's going to cost me a lot of money and my job."

Well, firstly, he's doing it because he told you that he was going to do exactly that. Secondly, he wants revenge, and he finds destroying the country while looting it to be satisfying and entertaining. Thirdly, Russia wants our country badly damaged from the inside because that's easier than a war, and they can't even manage to easily defeat a small nation using the military route. It's much easier to pay someone to start a fire in the attic.
