Trump will continue Biden's pro-oil policies. But will Harris?

Joe had us believing he opposed increases in oil drilling on federal lands. A "big disaster" he once proclaimed. Then his administration approved the Willow Project on the single-largest tract of undisturbed U.S. federal land. No doubt that, if Trump is elected, the massive drilling operation will go forward. Harris has dodged questions regarding the thing. Are we environmentalists naive in believing she will slow the momentum of fossil fuel interests' polluting our lands, air, and waters?

Harris is a pragmatist and will do what is best for her constituents.

It's clear her policies would be a lot more pro-environmental than quit-the-Paris-agreement-and-weaken-EPA Trump's.

Why would she not?
The US is at record oil and as production, that will not change.
Does that mean Harris will open up protected federal lands for fracking? I think not.

She has waffled on fracking. We do not know.

There seems to be a broad misconception of how using our natural resources harms the environment.
Sure some resources like coal are very harmful, and emit real pollution, and leave radioactive fly ash.
Oil and Natural gas, on the other hand mostly emit only CO2, which has not been shown to harm the environment.
There is also a fairly limited supply. Oil as a source for transport fuels, will price itself out of the market in a decade or two.
It is an untenable position! Thankfully the oil companies have a solution, Power to Liquid fuels.
It started in Germany as a way to move long summer day solar surpluses to winter heating applications.
Once they figured out how to make artificial olefins, they realized they could make any fuel they wanted to.
The only thing they are waiting on is the price of oil to increase to the point that the man made fuels offer greater profits.
This will happen when oil hits a sustained price of about $96 a barrel.
As a side benefit, the new fuels are 100% carbon neutral.

What exactly is government's role in oil? Why not just let the free market decide? Only thing goverment should be doing is: 1) leasing government land to oil drillers for as much as possible and 2) filling up our strategic petroleum reverses when the price is low and selling it when the price is high.
