Warning that North Korea's irredentist pursuit of nuclear weapons will result in a terrible situation for it, is exactly what the US should be doing.
Firm non-acceptance of North Korea's nuclear ambitions is nothing new - that's always been the case, and it isn't some newly invented position.
But the closer the North Koreans move to developing a full nuclear missile arsenal that can target the United States and the rest of the world, the more vocal and sharp the United States will have to be in its warnings - and that's exactly what Trump is doing. The North Koreans should not be left with the mistaken impression that the US will roll over and let them go nuclear. That's not going to happen - believing otherwise is an absolute fantasy.
Obama should have done his duty instead of passing the buck to the next guy, but that's what he did.
Bush should have done his duty instead of passing the buck to the next guy, but that's what he did.
Clinton should have done his duty instead of passing the buck to the next guy, but that's what he did.
If those men had fulfilled their responsibilities as they should have, then you'd be chastising them for using the same language that Trump is now using with Fat Kim.
Here you are accusing Trump of being a drama queen and on the other side of your mouth you're being exactly the same. Pot..meet Kettle.
Trump is correct that NK IS a problem that we have to solve. Trump is also correct that if we don't solve it then it is not going to be pleasant for anyone. Kim is just the type of person to use a nuke or attack someone with other weapons once he thinks he's got enough nukes that no one would dare retaliate for fear of Kim the Insane would actually use nukes if anyone dared oppose him. Such being the case...yeah...it wouldn't be pleasant for anyone.
And even if Kim somehow doesn't do what him and his papa use to threaten that doesn't mean that Kim's son won't later on. Seems to me that the further along the line of the Kim family that we get the more crazy that they get. To me its not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when".
Trump is a ****ing moron - he can’t even spell negosheeate.
Just more threats and counter threats. Seems Trump is no different from NK these days.
Kim Jong-un is a real threat. His government isn't testing nuclear missiles just for the fun of it, he means business. It would be damn foolish of the United States and our allies to blow it off or do nothing in response. Like anything else the key is prevention. We can't let him make the first strike and take lives, he needs to be stopped.
He is different, but then see I like that about him....it was long past time for some variety to spice things up.
Domestic and foreign policies are serious, not childish games.
And the elite who have been pursuing them in all seriousness have driven America into the ditch.
Maybe it is time for a change in attitude, the little people sure think so, that is why so many of us picked Trump.
He was not elected to capitulate with the losers. And he's done such a bang up job unifying them. Oh wait.
Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ, nixion, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H.W Bush, clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama all knew what the stakes that surround North Korea are.
Trump doesn’t know the gravity of the situation, and not surprising for a man who managed to go bankrupt in the casino buissness.
What gives you that idea?
Because all of the previous administrations have contained North Korea to what little land it has.
A government has nukes isn't "contained".
Because all of the previous administrations have contained North Korea to what little land it has.
Depends on what the country wants to use them for.
Nuclear weapons have but one purpose.
Not necessarily.
The threat of a nuclear weapon is useful as a deterrent against potential acts of aggression.
That's why Kim keeps threatening to attack?
Trumps sabre rattling is doing nothing. Stop deluding yourself.
He is different, but then see I like that about him....it was long past time for some variety to spice things up.
Nuclear weapons have but one purpose.
Its fine to spice things up on NBC, but we are talking about the most powerful man in the world (at least that use to be the job description).
We, as voters, need to be responsible about who we put in that position. We as voters failed to do our homework in 2016 and failed the test. The electoral college, which was designed to protect our Constitution from moments of voter lapse, failed to do their job as the fail safe.
Before America's great decline which has been so stunning in its speed that it can rightly be called a collapse, which is all of our faults.
What you need to get around to understanding is that our standing was shot to hell before Trump ever came around, due to our idiocy of planning and stunning incompetence to carry out those plans in the ME in general and in confronting Radical Islamic Terror in particular, because of the Great Recession that we gifted the world though mismanagement in general and lack of interest in crime in particular and that after we had no interest in fixing either the domestic or the global institutions which the Great Recession had proven beyond doubt proved have either failed or have nearly so.
The Elite blame it all on Trump because the story sells what they want to sell, but you need to see through what you are told to believe to the truth.
So lefties feel that Fat Kim, who assassinated his own half-brother, should be allowed to build up a nuclear missile arsenal to hold a nuclear knife to the throats of the world.
People are free to give their opinions - no matter how insane and ignorant - but sane people will recognize their insanity for what it is.
yes, to stay in their silos and not be used. The only use of nuclear weapons is deterrence.
