Metaphorically speaking, they took Trump's matches away. Maybe it's a little late, but probably better than nothing. Trump is the only one who can put this fire out and so far he is refusing to do so.

Someone needed to be 'the adult in the room' since his pawns kept mindlessly following his every word. If his followers had shown any ability to think for themselves, The Donald could express himself freely and just be responsible for further destroying his legacy.
