Already we can't trust a damn word our President says. First time, likely ever.

You could also say…Trump’s logic: I should always be allowed to lie to the American public if it makes me look good or serves my agenda.

This reminds one of the time the Trump administration was trying to say that the Venezuelan government was controlling the gangs and having them invade the US. The administration wanted to sell this false narrative in order to justify use of the Alien Enemies Act. Unfortunately, the intelligence agencies were saying that it was not true. So the administration’s reaction was to try to force the intelligence agency to change its assessment to fit their narrative. Of course there was no intelligence basis to do that.

p.s. Everyone with half a brain knew that Trump was lying when he said obliterated minutes after the bombing because there was no way anyone could have known that. All that could be seen from the satellite images were a few holes in the ground.
 
And THIS, unsurprisingly, is why the powers that be did NOT tell people before the mission. Loose lips, sink ships.
 
Called it. He won't share where he got the Intel that caused him to order the strikes and he won't share the assessments. This should not surprise anyone.

So they want to hide facts from Congress. I wonder if Congress will happily give up this power as easily as they gave up tariffs, disaster relief and not allowing allocated money to be spent.
