'I love the smell of deportations in the morning,'" he posted on Truth Social, a reference to the 1979 war movie "Apocalypse Now." "Chicago about to find out why it's called the Department of War,"

President Donald Trump's Truth Social post saying Chicago was about to find out "why it's called the Department of War" drew swift rebuke from Illinois leaders Saturday morning.

"'I love the smell of deportations in the morning,'" he posted on Truth Social, a reference to the 1979 war movie "Apocalypse Now." "Chicago about to find out why it's called the Department of War," the post continued, which included an image of him dressed in an Army uniform and helicopters flying in the background with the words "Chipocalypse Now," a reference to the film.

Trump signed an executive order Friday authorizing the Department of War as a secondary title for the Department of Defense in a move that he said sends "a message of strength."

President Donald Trump's Truth Social post

Truth Social
The White House shared the post on its X account.

Gov. JB Pritzker responded to Trump's deportations post Saturday on X, saying it "is not normal."

"The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city," Pritzker said in the post.

"This is not a joke. This is not normal."

Speaking from the 24th annual Mexican Independence Day Parade in Pilsen Saturday, Sen. Dick Durbin called the post "disgusting." "To suggest that the troops are coming into Chicago is an embarrassment," he said.

Bet Taco won't send troops to the much more violent cities in red states.

The department of defense has no business in an American city.

Sending in the guard without the invitation of the governor is unconstitutional.

Even Megyn Kelly knows it.

"We can’t have Trump going in without the invitation of this governor. I’m sorry, but we can't have it. He does not have the constitutional permission to do it,” Kelly, an attorney, said.

“It very clearly is not constitutionally permissible. He cannot do it,” she added. “I really hope he doesn’t do it because I don’t want a world in which I’m siding with Governor Pritzker over President Trump. But I will if he does it because he can’t do it legally.”

and an AI pic of him with a burning city in the background.

Not the level of maturity you expect from a President of the United States.

Trumpists.

This is the President of the United States.

This is what YOU have reduced the Presidency to.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves, but modern beta cuck conservatives, that give their entire mind and manhood over to a madman, don't have the balls to reject this kind of nonsense.

Get ****ed you miserable assholes.

Good luck impeaching Trump with the Dems holding onto a House minority position.
I believe Trump is throwing out a cinematic trial balloon to see how the public reacts to it. But, in reality, putting National Guard troops into Chicago is certainly one way to get Pritzker's and the hapless Progressive mayor's attention in the wake of so many shooting and murders in that shameful city Chicago.
Yeah, Yeah,,, Yeah, we heard all about the declining rates of crime in Chicago.

Let's once again hear it for Chicago being the leading city in murders for the past 13 years. And the useless Brandon Johnson simply cannot do anything about it.

And, American Revolutionists thought King George III was nuts by imposing tariffs!
King George III was up against some significant limitations. He was able to impose only a basic Stamp Act because the colonists didn't have ID cards to register their porn viewing habits with.

What is the per capita rate
That is what counts
Bigger cities will have more of things than smaller cities
Kind of a simple concept that seems to escape so many trump supporters

Lol. (y)

This is saying Chicago is bad because it is big. Copied from Perplexity.AI:

Leading Cities by Per Capita Homicide Rate

  • St. Louis, Missouri: 69.4 homicides per 100,000 residents, ranked consistently as the nation's highest.
  • Jackson, Mississippi: Approximately 78 homicides per 100,000 residents, topping recent FBI numbers.
  • Birmingham, Alabama: 58.8 homicides per 100,000 residents, more than 11 times the national average.
  • Baltimore, Maryland: 51.1 homicides per 100,000 residents; though lower than past years, still among the highest rates.
  • Detroit, Michigan: 39.7 homicides per 100,000 residents.
  • New Orleans, Louisiana: 40.6 homicides per 100,000 residents.
  • Memphis, Tennessee: 27.1 homicides per 100,000 residents.

Other Notable High-Rate Cities

  • Cleveland, Ohio: 33.7 per 100,000.
  • Kansas City, Missouri: 31.2 per 100,000.
  • Las Vegas, Nevada: 31.4 per 100,000.
  • Chicago, Illinois: 24.0 per 100,000.

I just don’t understand how any American, Trump supporter or not, can tolerate this behavior by Trump. It’s very extreme. He’s basically saying he wants to wage war against American citizens. Trump needs to be removed from office immediately before he causes any further damage to our country.
