Apparently Trump’s sinking approval numbers on immigration have convinced him that actually immigrants are fine. At least if they’re working in politically relevant industries. Or maybe the LA protestors have won a round, who knows.
Trump Shifts Deportation Focus, Pausing Raids on Farms, Hotels and Eateries
Read the comic books. They show a Peruvian student who, in the first one, comes to a US college where he is nearly murdered by rare book thieves. In the second his boyfriend in the US is driven to near suicide. That's exactly what soft power is. Winning hearts and minds.
Like Obama did. After reading this thread, it seems the extreme anti-Trumps are disappointed ICE is being directed to go in a new direction, much easier on farm workers, hotel and restaurant workers.
It makes fiscal sense that they would go easier if businesses are suffering. Trump has already acknowledged that these policies were affecting farmers and hospitality businesses by removing "very good, long-time workers" who are difficult to replace. It's economically understandable why Trump has changed course. It's a matter of preventing economic disruptions. Makes more sense to go after criminal activities like human trafficking and drug smuggling.

Oh dear. Tell me which other civilised nation forbids criticism of its leader? If your reply is 'fascist and authoritarian dictatorships' you win the prize. Your pathetic attempt at defending the orange moron you elected has failed.Your less than credible article doesn't tell us what "this guy" said that was deemed to make him/her admissible to the country. It doesn't even tell us who that person was. Instead, it quotes a Minister in the left-wing government of Francois Bayrou. And you bitch about a "snowflake." Quelle hypocrisie! Quelle ironie!
Was Obama's "sinking" approval numbers the reason he changed his mind on gay marriage?Apparently Trump’s sinking approval numbers on immigration have convinced him that actually immigrants are fine. Anyone with a half a brain could've predicted what would happen to ag and hospitality businesses so the moron in chief gets no credit for realizing what any moderately functioning human already knew. After reading this thread, it seems the extreme anti-Trumps are disappointed ICE is being directed to go in a new direction, much easier on farm workers, hotel and restaurant workers.

That's about an 8% decrease. How about you swallow an 8% pay cut and tell us BFD.Yeah, we'll "only" get $170 billion from tourists this year. BFD

It's no wonder so many countries have issued travel advisories against visiting America.
These countries have issued travel advisories for the United States
With an increasing number of foreign visitors facing challenges at the border, countries including Canada and Germany have updated their travel advisories for the US.www.cntraveller.com
The US was once a trusted friend and ally. Not any longer.
If fewer immigrants are being rounded up by fascists, that's good. However, I give the fascists no credit for dialing it down a few notches at the insistence of moneyed interests.
The Christian right has nothing but contempt and resentment towards poor people. Especially if they are foreign or brown.
Sounds like it:I honestly have no idea what we're doing anymore. Did someone (one of his rich friends) inform the president that migrant workers work in agriculture and hospitality?

82% of White evangelical Protestants support Trump.not that i have seen.
do you have anything besides 'i said so to back this up' ?
Oh, there's more to the story!TACO, TACO, TACO... (Trump caved, end of story.)

Trump's BBB would slash taxes, mainly on the rich, while simultaneously slashing programs for poor people.
Can you handle reality?
Oh, there's more to the story!
You want government efficiency?
Imagine the ICE offices on Monday morning. Their whole agency had ramped up to seize undocumented non-criminal workers.
Now they are supposed to switch on a dime and return to policing the border and tracking down the tiny number of convicted criminal illegal immigrants.
The GOP's BBB bill includes funding to hire an additional 10,000 ICE employees. What will they do now?
Trump's policy never made a lick of sense, fiscally or otherwise, except to further the cause of white nationalism. It makes fiscal sense that they would go easier if businesses are suffering. Trump has already acknowledged that these policies were affecting farmers and hospitality businesses by removing "very good, long-time workers" who are difficult to replace.

We'll see. The support for tax cuts for the rich, regardless of deficits, and contempt for government programs that help anyone else, runs deep in the GOP DNA.I am still convinced what the Senate send back to the House will infuriate Trump.
Yeah, like restaurants around the country saying they have to close because half their workers have been "detained."Business leaders of those industries must have had a chat with him, since that seems to be the way Donnie Boy functions.
I can never again see a picture of Steven Miller without thinking of this description of him:My heart bleeds for him.
