Trump 'shifts blame' on Stephen Colbert's show cancellation with 6-word dig at TV host

President Donald Trump is shrugging off any responsibility for Stephen Colbert's departure from his Late Show CBS gig.

On Tuesday, the real estate mogul turned politician vented on his platform, Truth Social, denying any involvement in CBS's decision to cancel the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The entertainment world was stunned when the host announced this month that his show would wrap up in 2026, and even more so when CBS claimed the move was simply a "financial decision." As fingers point at Trump, suggesting he played a role in the termination of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Trump is clearing the air.

As usual, the orange child rapist is lying through his teeth.

The show costs CBS money.
What do you want them to do?

If it's good, Trump takes credit for it., regardless of whether he deserves it.

If it's bad, Trump always blames someone else, even if it's his doing.

Personally, I believe CBS's decision was primarily financial in nature. If I'm right, they will not replace him with just another Late Night host.

Fake news. Trump doesn't know 6 words. "Person, Man, Woman, Camera, TV" is only five.

All shows on CBS cost CBS money.

That is how entertainment works.

CBS needs to stop bending over for Trump.
I agree. From what I've read, late night TV is increasingly a losing proposition, and many shows may be canceled for financial reasons.

But CBS cowardly and cravenly bent the knee with 60 Minutes. That they should never have done.

Agreed, which is why all of those responsible need to be unemployed.
