Trump sent Seal Team 6 into North Korea. They failed and killed a bunch of fishermen. Trump hide it from Congress/the public.

I just wish someone would feed more interesting whataboutisms into his input tray. So many opportunities to deflect to Hunter’s laptop and/or genitals, Paul Pelosi, Obama’s religion, the cat eaters etc. but the best he could manage was a bland But Biden. It’s sad.
Some people are more upset at the bombings of civilians than they are partisan talking points...

Count me among them.

More from the New York Times article:

...In part because of this track record, President Barack Obama curtailed Special Operations missions late in his second term and increased oversight, reserving complex commando raids for extraordinary situations like hostage rescues.

The first Trump administration reversed many of those restrictions and cut the amount of high-level deliberation for sensitive missions. A few days after taking office in 2017, Mr. Trump skipped over much of the established deliberative process to greenlight a Team 6 raid on a village in Yemen. That mission left 30 villagers and a SEAL dead and destroyed a $75 million aircraft.

When President Joseph R. Biden Jr. succeeded Mr. Trump, the gravity of the North Korea mission attracted renewed scrutiny. Mr. Biden’s defense secretary, Lloyd J. Austin III, ordered an independent investigation, conducted by the lieutenant general in charge of the Army inspector general’s office.

In 2021, the Biden administration briefed key members of Congress on the findings, a former government official said.

Those findings remain classified.

Just five days after taking office, over dinner with his newly installed secretary of defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, President Trump was presented with the first of what will be many life-or-death decisions: whether to approve a commando raid that risked the lives of American Special Operations forces and foreign civilians alike.

President Barack Obama’s national security aides had reviewed the plans for a risky attack on a small, heavily guarded brick home of a senior Qaeda collaborator in a mountainous village in a remote part of central Yemen. But Mr. Obama did not act because the Pentagon wanted to launch the attack on a moonless night and the next one would come after his term had ended.

With two of his closest advisers, Jared Kushner and Stephen K. Bannon, joining the dinner at the White House along with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., Mr. Trump approved sending in the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, hoping the raid early last Sunday would scoop up cellphones and laptop computers that could yield valuable clues about one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist groups. Vice President Mike Pence and Michael T. Flynn, the national security adviser, also attended the dinner.

As it turned out, almost everything that could go wrong did. And on Wednesday, Mr. Trump flew to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to be present as the body of the American commando killed in the raid was returned home, the first military death on the new commander in chief’s watch....

Not since Biden got called out.

Oh, you meant this happens all the time, didn't you?

Impossible. You wouldn't have voted for Trump 3 times. 🤣

Because of course he did.

"A group of Navy SEALs secretly entered North Korea in early 2019 to plant a device to intercept the communications of dictator Kim Jong Un — but ended up firing on unarmed civilians diving for shellfish, puncturing their lungs to conceal their bodies and aborting the mission, according to a report.

The top-secret mission, reportedly authorized by President Trump during his first term, was carried out by SEAL Team 6’s Red Squadron — the same unit that killed Osama Bin Laden, the New York Times reported Friday.

...

The mission was so risky that it required Trump’s direct approval. If SEALs were caught on North Korean soil, it could have sunk nuclear negotiations or led to a hostage situation, the report claimed.

...

“I don’t know anything about it. I’d have to, I could look, but I know nothing about it,” Trump told reporters Friday when asked about the alleged mission."

They murdered fisherman for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, innocent bystanders. Utterly reprehensible.

BUT................... whatabout................Biden?
Whataboutism is an argumentative tactic where a person or group responds to an accusation or difficult question by deflection. Instead of addressing the point made, they counter it with “but what about X?”.

Yeah, I ran over someone the other day and my defense will be, well, it happens all the time. So why point your finger at me? It's not fair. Just last week a neighbor of mine ran someone over. See? Happens all the time.

As long as the people who didn't vote for Biden and don't vote for Trump, we'll be good. There are better options.

If anyone voted for one or the other, then they are voting for assholes and may deserve the economy they supported. That's all; I don't wish them unwell, but they voted for a president who did this.

I voted against Trump 3 times.

Far more times than should have been necessary. He should not be allowed to hold office -

But I've told this to you, multiple times.

Gosh, if only Carter had thought to suppress all knowledge of Operation Eagle Claw....
