Trump says he plans to phase out FEMA after 2025 hurricane season

I think anyone who lives below sea level along the coast is an idiot who deserves what happens to them.

How...adorable.

Of course, it doesn’t help that they elect Democrats bribed by contractors and developers to murder them with negligence.

LOL all those red states elect Democrats?

Can you explain exactly how that works?

I'm kind of picturing something like this:

Can you also desribe how it is that tornado states have people living on coasts below sea level?

No. It was here in 2011 and your comrades lost.

Hold onto that.

Hold onto it really tight.

You're going to need it when peole you know, friends, loved ones have their homes utterly destroyed by a natural disaster, still owe the bank the mortgage and are expected to build new homes with whatever paltry amount can be squeezed out of their not-very-wealthy states.

None of my friends will have that problem.

More scumbag shit.
This all begs the obvious question, of course.

If the government doesn't exist to provide responses to natural disasters, etc, then why bother with it?

We’d be better off without a government at this point especially since it’s so easy for a dictator to get into power.

Republican policies are just pure dog shit.

I don’t need or want handouts. That’s a left wing fetish.
Funny.

70 % of Americas GDP comes from counties that vote democrat.

Areas controlled by Republicans are the biggest recipients of Gov. Handouts.

These are facts.

More scumbag shit.

I simply don't see any reason for my region to stay in the union. It's a shit show.

Sounds like lowlander problems.

And if they succeed, good luck finding insurance.

The Brown’s Creek is right next to Greg Rex’s property. During spring runoff the sound can be quite calming.

...Rex’s house suffered only minor damage [from the Davis Fire].

There was smoke damage and his solar and hydro power needed to be repaired. He says insurance paid for those repairs.

But the company warned him his policy would not be renewed when it expired in March 2025.

“This is a real financial situation,” says Rex. “If you can’t get insurance, you can’t buy or sell a house.”

What will the country look like in 10 years if these policies persist? If insurance companies decline coverage and FEMA cuts reimbursement, like the homeowner said, people won't be able to buy or sell such homes.

That's wildfire that affects people with means who can afford to live in high-risk areas. Hurricanes and tornadoes don't discriminate. I don't see how such a system survives without mass migration, legislation mandating insurance companies offer coverage, or a state operated insurance system funded by taxation.

FEMA could always be improved, but the consequences of dismantling it will be costly and unnecessary. The system is fine the way it is, and though P2025 is the brainchild of the wealthy, simply shifting costs doesn't save nor make anyone any money.

Hahahahaha
All the money that goes to red states
Corporate welfare to farmers
Medicaid in red states
Etc

What a stupid post

That’s true. Biden completely forgot about the folks affected by the volcano in HI.
In January, Johnson said any aid to California would be "conditional."

Oh he's planning a loophole to help the red states and his subjects...the money from the feds is to go thru him and be paid out at his discretion. I highlighted that in red in my post.

I think you nailed it. Trump damn sure wants to have the power of allocating disaster aid funds too. No question.

I don’t need or want handouts. That’s a left wing fetish.

If it's a left wing fetish then how come red states have their hands out for the largest portion proportionately (and give the least in return in fed $) when disaster strikes?

Perhaps it is a right wing fetish.
