Trump rolls back bedrock civil rights measure in sweeping anti-DEI push

:ROFLMAO:

Rescinding the DEI initiatives does absolutely nothing to the enforcement of the EEO or civil rights acts. Those offices in the government are un-impacted. DEI is a ****ing cancer. If people knew how many thousands of senior level administrative people have been hired into DEI roles to accomplish literally **** all...except to spend their days in a self congratulatory circle jerks TALKING about DEI...and if they knew how much that ridiculous initiative costs, they would have demanded an end to this long before Trump took office.

Federal agencies are governed by OPM. OPM maintains policy on EEO and Civil Rights initiatives. DEI has nothing to do with any of that.

I think he is talking about this:

Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965 (Equal Employment
Opportunity), is hereby revoked. For 90 days from the date of this
order, Federal contractors may continue to comply with the regulatory
scheme in effect on January 20, 2025.

It's on Page 4

The Executive Order prohibits federal contractors and federally‐assisted construction contractors and subcontractors, who do over $10,000 in Government business in one year from discriminating in employment decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin. The Executive Order also requires Government contractors to take affirmative action to ensure that equal opportunity is provided in all aspects of their employment. Additionally, Executive Order 11246 prohibits federal contractors and subcontractors from, under certain circumstances, taking adverse employment actions against applicants and employees for asking about, discussing, or sharing information about their pay or the pay of their co‐workers.

That's racist.

Given all the terrible things Trump has done not sure if this one has been posted yet.
With Trump's DEI EO he revoked the Equal Employment Opportunity order from 1965.
More racism from Trump.
Guess MAGA will cheer this one as well.
Oh yeah. because the left doesn't believe you have to earn anything. Qualifications mean nothing to the left. It's about sex, gender, color, and the like. Nothing to do with qualifications.

Yeah, but the neo-leftists have to twist everything so they can get overwhelmed and hysterical and scream "The sky is falling!!!" on an obscure, worthless Internet forum dedicated to hysterical neo-leftists and their insane BS.

You People believe only straight white men can be qualified.

Flat up.

That's racist.
Racists are gonna love this.

The best we can hope for is that Trump's flurry of EO's trying to revoke or ignore law finally triggers an actual discussion on the proper limitations of the EO power. For far too long Presidents have used the EO to legislate or to take other powers reserved for Congress and enact them themselves. It's beyond time that the EO gets reigned in.

They dont even know what they are poutraged over.

If you look at the federal employment ranks you will see an amazingly diverse staff...mostly along areas of educational emphasis. Federal offices governing STEM programs are predominately white and Asian...but then...stem programs in HS and college are predominantly occupied by...surprise...whites and Asians. The social sciences fields in the federal service (which is a LARGE percentage of the total federal force) is dominantly minority and women oriented. Guess who is pursuing what degrees in college.

EEO laws exist to ensure there is no discrimination AGAINST people for their race and gender. Those laws still exist. Civil Rights policies still exist to protect employees from discrimination on basis of race, gender, age, etc. No change. DEI didnt improve our hiring position with for example inner city minorities.DEI didnt give opportunities to underprivileged people. DEI gifted jobs to people based on race and gender and orientation that were already succeeding in federal programs.

You'll note that Vancemack was answered directly, but he ignored that poster - probably because that poster made his own post look the spittle-flecked spastic idiocy it usually is - and instead chose to only make a show of agreeing with a fellow Trumpist, as if that's going to convince anyone of anything.

I think the anti-discrimination stuff is already covered by other Civil Rights Laws, so Trump can't just revoke that with an EO. My reading of this is that it just ends affirmative action in government hiring. Is that right?

It's probably time to move on from affirmative action IMO. Affirmative action made sense in 1965, when we mainly just had a privileged white class and a black underclass that had faced very recent discrimination. Affirmative action makes less sense in the multiracial society of 2025, where people of all races occupy all social classes.

Did you read the EO? It revokes the Equal Employment Opportunity which has been in place since 1965.
What's the point of revoking that?

Because it made it harder for good old boys to treat women and people of color unfairly in the workplace.
Edited to add - I don't have time to look but I'll bet this is buried in Pro-JECT 20205.
