thus endeth the war on appliances
resident Donald Trump is ordering the immediate reversal of Biden-era green energy regulations on household appliances and the reinstatement of environmental orders issued under his first term.

During his term, former President Joe Biden issued more stringent climate standards for various household appliances, such as gas stoves, washing machines and dishwashers, which energy experts and manufacturers have warned could lead to more expensive alternatives that are far less effective than current models.

Trump, in a Truth Social post early Tuesday morning, called on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), led by former Rep. Lee Zeldin, to immediately undo Biden's climate mandates and return to "common sense standards."

Republican lawmakers, who have the majority in both the House and the Senate, have also started taking actions in Congress to derail Biden's green energy standards for appliances.

Also in January, the House passed the "Liberty in Laundry Act" to prevent the Energy secretary and Department of Energy from "implementing new or amended energy efficiency standards for clothes washers that are not technologically feasible and economically justified."

I can't believe we still have an EPA despite Trump's recent EO flurry.

When will the madness end?

MAGA.

So much for "energy experts."

Still using LED lights.

Not buying any appliances anytime soon due to the steel tariffs.

LED lights are super efficient, so they're bad in that way, but they last forever which is good if one tends toward laziness as I do.

Perhaps Elon can invent a new incandescent bulb that lasts practically forever, but Musk has a lot on his plate at the moment with all of his DOGE activities and competitive gaming, so the eternal incandescent bulb will have to wait.

MAGA.

LEDs are here to stay and I'll continue using those. Folks interested in incandescent bulbs, animal fat candles or whatever can light their homes as they wish. As for appliances, the hope is there will still be a market for them for the non-Luddites.
;)

I thought he had people for that.

Yeah, you can take that "super efficient" nonsense straight on out of here. The MAGAverse demands the most inefficient light bulbs, because having to buy replacements more frequently is what MAKES AMERICA GREAT. If it wastes more and costs more, then awesome-sauce! Have you taken your rollin' coal pickup out yet?

I've been buying incandescent lightbulbs this entire time, no problems at all. I prefer them, better for reading.

Another complete non issue. Now....about those grocery prices. When they coming down?

Yeah, what's up with that? Omelettes cost $50 to make now and Donnie Boy said he would take care of this on day 1.

The "energy experts" link is dead.

So he's rolling back regulations to make things like 2016, but frankly, I've never noticed much difference in bulbs and appliances between then and now.

Actually, they have the capacity to manufacture an incandescent light that will last 10,000s of hours already. It all has to do with the amount of oxygen allowed to remain in the bulb. The more oxygen in the bulb, the shorter its lifespan. If they seal the bulb in a completely oxygen-free vacuum, the lifespan goes up many multiples. The problem is you don't buy as many bulbs if they do that.

Regression is the theme here, because it's really all Donnie Boy has to offer.
