$10 billion for US farmers? I wonder what the farmers think about the Argentines getting $20 billion and they are selling their soy beans to China.

From the OP link: Trump does not have enough money in the Department of Agriculture’s Commodity Credit Corporation fund ($4 billion) to fully fund the bailout, Politico reported, adding Trump officials are evaluating how money made from tariffs could supplement farmer payments.

Maybe Trump should tap some of that $17 trillion that’s coming in to the coffers……

Surely if we can spend all the money we have on taking care of illegals in this country we can come up with some for our farmers.

Trump's tariffs are backfiring. Guess we won't be paying down the debt with all that tariff revenue.

lol
Um, it's working the way they want it. People will be much poorer that they also won't be able to fund future governments with money due to how much interest is being paid to the national debt. So, expect a lot more poverty coming to you! While the usual suspects get bailed out again and again.

I guess “America First” doesn’t mean all that much. Don’t cry for Argentina!

Hurrah for laissez faire.

input costs up (combine rentals), fertilizer costs up, seed costs up;
permanently lost markets in Brazil and China, with more BRICS-related;
none of this gets on fox-type Breitbart Sinclair platforms

Wait! I though you people felt sorry for the farmers! Apparently not anymore. Also it's not 20 billion in aid, it's 20 billion to support a currency swap. If Argentina can repair its currency we can get all our money back, maybe even make some money.

And if we don't get our money back?

Then we can impeach Trump for misappropriation of government funds!

Good news for our farmers. It's been a rough ride. Help is coming soon.

US farmers hit by trade war to get 'substantial' aid: Treasury chief

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent signaled Thursday that "substantial support" for farmers would be announced next week, particularly for those growing soybeans, as they struggle with fallout from President Donald Trump's trade conflicts.
Worries have been growing for weeks of a major hit to farmers, a key part of Trump's political base, as exports to China dry up over tariffs instituted by Beijing in retaliation to US levies.

"You should expect some news on Tuesday on substantial support for our farmers, especially the soybean farmers," Bessent told CNBC early Thursday.
The Wall Street Journal also reported Thursday that President Donald Trump is mulling $10 billion or more in aid to American farmers as the trade tensions take a toll.
