Trump publicly urges China to investigate Bidens amid impeachment inquiry

President Donald Trump urged another*foreign government to probe Joe Biden and his son Thursday, saying the Chinese government should investigate the former vice president and son Hunter Biden over the latter's involvement with an investment fund that raised money in the country.

I guess getting impeachment begun wasn't enough. Which countries will he not ask?
 
Yeah, unbelievable. The guy with the power to impose or remove tariffs on China, while in the middle of a tariff war, asks for their assistance in thwarting a political rival to throw our election.

Trump did the same thing last election asking Putin's help, and Putin obliged and he won against improbable odds. Now he's up to it again. This is the saddest day I can imagine for the country. Not just that Trump's doing this, but that a large swatch of the country wants him to do this. Quite honestly, I'm shaken by this.
 
So that's it right? What more evidence do they need now?

Crazy times. I guess I kind of see the genius in the move, he's doubling down on Biden as he knows his base is 100% behind him.

When it comes to China, at least we can rest assured that nothing bad has happened when China recognized Ivanka's trade mark after Xi's visit to Mar A Lago.

Yeah, but with his hand on the tariff lever, Trump just did another,

"Putin please help me with Hillary's emails".

And guess what? Last time, Putin did help - and Trump subsequently won!

Trump's using foreign 'combatant' states to throw our election!

I'm at a loss as to why Trump's supporters don't see him for the graft-ridden fraud he is. In fact, I'm dumbfounded by this.

The answer to your question my liberal friend is Trump fights. It doesn't matter the rest. The Republican party didnt fight before and still dont for the most part. For those who want to fight, Trump is the only game in town.

Have you ever wondered how a small island nation on the other side of the globe was able to do what it did to India and China?
The British got the locals to fight amongst themselves and offered assistance to one side and/or the other.

Shirley, you can see that inviting foreign powers to interfere in our elections is not a good idea.
Condoning the interference of foreign powers in our govt is a horrible idea.

important lesson in life that most learn as a child: Pick your battles wisely (or "don't fight stupid battles" is another way to put it)

That key bit of wisdom got lost somewhere it seems.

But if this is your guy's choice, then you have nobody to blame when you alienate most of the country.

pretty much this, for better or worse, it seems this is where they decided to draw the line in the sand, consequences be damned.
 

Ask anyone who rides horses and they will tell you that "stepping in it" is practically unavoidable, but that "jumping up and down in it while shouting 'Wheeee!' is just stupid".
 

Fair enough, but there's a difference between a bar room brawler and a boxer. Trump is the former, and has no idea when to brawl and when to be strategic in how to fight. He's always lacked that refinement which is why he was often perceived as a crass buffoon in a lot of circles.
 

Considering he is the only one on the Republican side that fights, not exactly much choice in the matter, is there? If bar room brawler is all you got its, all you got.

Yeah, but fighting isn't always the best approach. Trump started out in aggro mode and that's all he's gotten back; you get what you give.
 

Don't forget the "(and got what Russia wanted)" bit that follows immediately after the "Putin did help" bit.

I have no doubt that Mr. Xi will be quite willing to agree to "investigate" Mr. Biden IMMEDIATELY after Mr. Trump publicly announces major reductions in the tariffs imposed on Chinese goods. Of course, how long it will take for the Chinese government to COMPLETE that "investigation" I simply couldn't say (just as I couldn't say what the Chinese would "find").

Imagine that you're the one who's been defending a monster for three years straight. How thrilled would you be to admit, "Yup, the guy I've been defending all this time is the worst person ever. Oopsy daisies." At this point, you'd be in so deep that it's just easier to be as bad as him.

No, he started off polite and accommodating and got kicked in the balls from the very start. The dude was willing to work with the Democrats and get stuff passed, he was even willing to go around the Republicans when they balked. The Dems gave him the middle finger and went about their merry witch hunt instead.
